This should be considered one of the best R&B slow jams EVER. Tamia's pitch control is just freakishly flawless. Not at all an easy song to sing and she just casually slays it like she's buttering the toast. That sustained E5, beautiful.
Now that I'm older, I realize that they added auto tune to her mic, and that makes me not like this performance as much. She doesn't need it at all, and whoever added that made the vibrato of her sustained high notes at the end of the song sound a bit robotic. I prefer her performance at Apollo, because of this. But if it weren't for the auto tune, this would be my favorite performance of hers.
@@slim_pickins01 There was. And I'm not about to argue, because you think I'm insulting her, but I'm not. Her voice is incredible and she does not need it. However, they did it for this performance.
Why would somebody come on here and listen to this performance then click "Dislike"???? Must be tone deaf or stupid. Flawless throughout by an amazing singer.
I just cant believe shes not that popular , i mean maybe in america ....but with that talent and that amazing voice she needed to be worldwide popular.....flawless performance ....lovu u tamia....you deserved more with that voice
Wouldn't surprise me if she did the album cut in one take. She was / is so pitch perfect. That's just how she sings! You know what they call that? Talent... Amazing vocalist, and way underrated.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. She killed it with this one. I don't understand how ppl could not like this record or her voice. I played this for hard core rock dudes & they loved it. I had to unlike my first like just to like it again lol
My goodness! This girl can sing her face off. I've always been aware, but I was just so busy w/ other artists. I apologize for not paying more attention to you during the time, Tamia. You are so good live. Great performance.
She has amazing intonation and pitch - Whitney and Mariah level vocals imo. I love the way she darkens her lower notes and I prefer this vocal take over the studio one.
oh my God...every different new performance i listen to is better than the one before!! It’s a baffling mystery why Miss Tamia wasn’t much bigger than she was/ is. Maybe the white audience can only cope with a couple of black female vocalists at a time...whitney, mary j and a few others successful around then. i dont know...that seems like such a ridiculous reason now i think about it...like i said, baffling, because she had it all.
wow really nice, this is one of my favourite songs from tamia,, dam it, one of my favourite songs full stop and this performance is just class. Most r&b today is just crap, bring back soul xD
