Hello!
This is part 1 of a three part series on handling and taming your roborovski, or not, depending on your roborovski and your own preferences.
In this video I discuss whether or not to handle a roborovski, the characteristics of robos and some general considerations.
In the second video in the series I discuss how to build up your robos trust and your own confidence for handling, and in the third, I discuss ways around handling if your robo doesn't like being handled/ is shy or scared, or if you are uncomfortable handling your robo.

Finally someone making robo content! Really looking forward to the series, very informative! I love researching robo behaviour too but there's just not that many resources out there yet

I really love this video. I feel you really understand robos. I have seen some videos were people try to 'tame' their robo by handling them such a lot and the poor thing looks so distressed. My robo is frightened of hands but he will go into a tube and then into a playpen. He has times he will let me chat to him and times he wants to be left alone. I did try to hand feed him to get him used to me but he was unhappy with that so I stopped.

great video ...totally agree ...some robo's are very shy and skittish and others can be a bit bolder in interacting with us . this sounds a great series and i'm looking foreward to watching these videos .

I'm worried about putting them in a run? Incase they get lost? How many same sex can live together please

@@PricelessJesus all hamsters should really live alone ..i have a plastic bin cage with a meshed lid for a play area for my robo , where i know he is safe and cannot escape .

My robo lets me feed him food from my hand but wont let me pet him or pick him up, i am still taming him though so hopefully he becomes more brave :)

It would have to be a very secure run. But robos often don't like going into a run anyway so it isn't necessary if they have a nice big enclosure :). Robos should live alone in captivity. I have a video on this also if that helps. Thanks for your comment ☺
