0 to 60 in two seconds.? That's nothing. My cousin bought his wife a set of bathroom scales that would go from 0 to 250 in one second. Nice review by the way.
Guess what my next car kit will be Andy? Tamiya just blew me away with this one for sure! I'm a Senna fan as well and he signed my F1 program booklet at the 1988 GP in Montreal where I'm from! There were many others there of course so I didn't get to talk to him but I thanked him and he said you're welcome! A moment I'll never forget!
I have 3 suggestions: 1.Papaya Orange: Bruce McLaren official color 2.since it carry Senna name then you should explore painting it with a McLaren MP4/4 colors (first time Senna name associated with McLaren) 3. Mix of the following (bit messy) : A) All black parts on box art:JPS black with golden strips B) Papaya Orange C) Front Hood: MP4/4 color
Right on Andy!!! Really great video!! Keep them coming!! Although i am.a die hard armor sci fi guy.....and subs It is a beautiful kit Andy . Tamiya's engineering is fantastic. I would say like a gun metal color and a dark navy blue Not gloss but a semi gloss Thank you Andy for another fun terrific video!!! Your on track Andy!!! 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I can foresee the use of multiple sheets of carbon fiber decals in my near future. I reckon this would look awesome in Gunze GX-204 blue and black. I wonder if Tamiya will be releasing further Mclaren kits down the road?
AMT, Monogram, MPC, Revell gotta step up their game, Tamiya is making kits into collector's quality item with all the color printing materials inside, the gorgeous paid artists box art, and top notch no falling apart heavy stock printing boxes.
Clever Tamiya. They can create so many spin offs from this kit just like McLaren have done in full scale. Basic tub is common to most of the McLaren full size cars with different versions spun off it.
Woooooooooowwwwwwwww, i love races and super/hyper cars! O always wanted to build this kit, but it didnt exist, until now. Im so happy so see this. I think this kit would be beautiful in any color, but i think the orange is the most beautiful one. Bu the way Andy, me and my father (Lyrio Regis) loves your videos, we are from Brazil and we are crazy to go shopping In tour store. I hope onde they we can meet.
Hi Thiago Lyrio! Thank you for the suggestion. I like orange as well! That's awesome, say hello to your father for me and thanks to you both for watching my video. I hope you make it to my shop someday too, until then, take care and stay safe. - Andy
I Andy I think you should paint the McLaren one side in the blue and the other side in the red and call it the fire and ice McLaren. Love the channel love your work
Looks like a beautiful kit. Like all the Tamiya kits. If it was mine, I would paint it to match the Senna Ducati which is a dark metallic gray. “Ducati Grigio Scuro”.and satin black. Take care of yourself and stay safe.🍻🌲
Pre-ordered at Spotmodel. I really don't like the car that much, but I am kinda curious about this crazy engineered kit. It will be a fun build, to diverge a little from the racing cars.
When you told us about a surprise, I went on Tamiya's site and saw the 1/12 Porsche 935, that is now on my personal shelf, and thought it might be that. Be cool if you did an unboxing as mine will be in storage for a year or so.
Two points, I wish you would have let us see all of the instructions. It will be a while before we can see how it goes together. Second question, I see you show the LP paint bottles, are you getting them for sale or have them? I have been wanting tamiya Lacquer paint for a while. Please let us see the directions though as this builds up around the chassis, I want to see how it goes together.
Personaly, Andy, I think bright fire red with the black high lights. A good PE set would send it over the top. Then, a light kit.........uggg. Dreaming again, LOL. OR maybe a brilliant Blue.
hi Andy, nice review (with jingle too!). which color scheme? for me only the Brazilian flag can fit. with the big globe on the roof. I will certainly buy the kit, even if it is not military. stay safe, a hug Alessandro
I'd classify these kind of cars as Hypercars and not Supercars. Prices and technology in those is so far out that a separate category is needed. Great review as always.
This is cool and I’m definitely getting one but why Tamiya won’t release cars like the M3/M4, GT3, GT2RS, Lotus ExigeS etc. -.- I guess we should be grateful for a new release no matter what it is these days lol
One person in my city own one. there is some deep purple carbon with some fluorescent green accent. So nice. Will sure paint minette same way with this kit!!!
just imagine the amount of work it would have taken Tamiya to Replicate that car, draw those elements in CAD, then setup the moulds.. all to scale. wow.
It's funny how a few years back reading how some modelers complained when Academy started doing colored sprues and stuff for their recent aircraft kits, like if it'd ruin the models and make them toy like. When the colored sprues doesn't make any difference after you've painted your model and ignoring the fact that Tamiya and other 'top brands' have been doing colored sprues in car kits and other stuff for years if not decades. And as Andy said many people and kids their first model may end up unpainted and some may not go beyond building that way.
would be awesome to get it to look like carbon fiber / black with the orange accents. I'm sure there is a way to make the body kit look like carbon fiber with decals.
My 2001 Lotus Esprit had a 500hp engine governed to 350 hp, and about an equivalent amount of torque. That thing scared me sometimes...this...I don't know if I'd even take it out of the garage!
