Consumers do not need to inhale toxic products. The public only got healthier when CFC's got banned in things like hairspray in the 90's and our air conditioners are cold without using freon. Tamiya needs use better compressed gas and/or the airbrush companies are gonna make a lot more money since modelers will have to start airbrushing or use regular hand brushes to use Tamiya paint.

​@@vallam3531 Actually this is a ruling from 2007 under Harper. It was found that the Tamiya spray finishes use a highly toxic substance in their propellant that's been found to be a significant. "2-Butoxyethanol (2-BE), also known as ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, is a solvent (a liquid used for dissolving other substances) belonging to the glycol ether family. 2-BE is used in surface coatings, household cleaning products, herbicides, automobile brake fluids, printing inks, spot removers and cosmetics. 2-BE was found to be harmful to human health under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and may contribute to the deterioration of red blood cells. In order to help protect the health of Canadians, the 2-Butoxyethanol Regulations came into force in 2007 limiting 2-BE in cleaning, paint and coating products designed for indoor use." Note that regulations controlling 2-BE have been on the books in Canada for 17-years at this point. Basically this enforcement move should come as no surprise for those that need to know about these matters. Canada is a 20-year signatory of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and is acting on its commitment to both the Stockholm Convention on POP and Canada's own longstanding 2-BE regulations. I wouldn't necessarily call this enforcement to lower the exposure to a known hazardous chemical in consumer-use goods to be a shame, especially in light of the fact that apparently not all Tamiya spray finishes use propellant that contains 2-BE, which indicates that Tamiya already incorporates less toxic alternative propellants in their existing production processes. At least the Canadian government isn't mandating the proper disposal of remaining stock. Canadian retailers are permitted to sell off all remaining stock of Tamiya spray finishes that contain 2-BE. Unfortunately the ban is a blanket ban for the moment. This is not unexpected since bans usually go wide at first as a matter of safety and then become more granular as details are worked out with manufacturers, industry and retailers. Apparently the concentration of 2-BE in the propellant Tamiya is using is too high for consumer use in Canada. Tweaking formulations is trivial for Tamiya so it's unlikely that Tamiya spray finishes will completely disappear from the Canadian market for long. Tamiya is currently working out the details with the Canadian government which includes a formulation change.

@poorboysrc yep heybmay not as a printer and in the Industry we see this with ink also and VOC's have been an issue for years. I hope you can get them I know back in Malaysia there will be no issue, hope you stocked up.
