That was my last Tamiya and RC car back in my original RC days from 1978-1994. A long hiatus ensued until 2016. Then I came back with Tamiya and I again own a new Blitzer Beetle among other re-releases. And then there's the Traxxas and Arrma's I own. Probably 30 cars now....lol. The lipo batteries and brushless motors made this like a new hobby for me again. 25Ft air, backflips... I have even got a Tamiya to 97MPH (TT02RR vid to prove on my channel orange car). Other than the Covid 19 and rioting, life is GREAT in 2020...hahaha 😂
Hahahaha....I literally posted the same thing minutes ago before I read your post! I think this kit was special to a lot of guys for the same reason. Wow...that was uncanny.😄 I always wanted a Sand Scorcher(used to drool over them around 1980 in the hobby shop, and watching the promo vids) but by the time I got my first Tamiya in 83 they were gone. So when this one came out in the early 90's I had to have it because of the dune buggy theme...like the Scorcher.
Nice build, good choice for your electrics. You’ll need to buy a Steel 13t pinion gear, those standard soft alloy pinions don’t like powerful motors. Keep up the Videos, just subbed👍🏻😎
