I found with those Tamiya iridescent paints that 10 very light coats made the color shift come out even better. It's a long paint in the butt process, but it does pay off.
That was rather impressive. Not seen iridescent paints applied before and initially I was sceptical thinking "Jesus... He's gonna need 50 coats of that for it to show" but add the black and pow! What a difference. Very impressive.
Hey!! If you do your paint jobs on the outside you can paint the inside of the body grey or silver ish and the gift keeps giving!! When the paint gets scratched it looks like metal underneath really looks good on crawlers and scalers
Ah right. I thought the colour change layer looked really thin but that's come out perfect. Do you use the same 'thickness' of a solid colour paint then back it with black the same way?
I have a question. This sprays form the inside as a PS Tamiya paint. I have a hard shell tamiya can I do the black on the outside with this as a top coat? Does this paint work with thst or am I stick with the TS paints?
Hello, question regarding iridescent paint jobs. I notice that you use black as a backing for the green and purple. I am interested in doing an orange and yellow paint job. Would I use white as a backing or still go with black? I'm thinking white, but not 100% sure. Thanks
I was curious if you (or anybody in chat) knows how well the iridescents comes out if painting on the exterior (so, black base coat with the iridescent layers on top)? I haven't done any cars, but I have a dragon model that I'd like to give this kind of effect to. Thanks ;-)
Hey guys, I’m totally unfamiliar with the process of painting these cars as I come from painting gundam plastic model kits; Is there a reason why you don’t paint the model from the outside?
@@HaywireFanPage I have tested the purple/green and the pink/gold over silver. Both came out pretty nice. The purple green paint shifts between a barely green silver to a light metallic lavender. The pink/goldover silver has less color shift but looks like freshly polished copper. Both are subtle and nice but, for my current Abarth 1000TCR build, I think I will go with the pink/gold.
Good video mate No it really show's the double effect when you're under the sun light BUT make sure you put a last coat of BLACK COLOUR.. i love it and i know want to paint my Mountain bike same colour but crazy business i'd say bcs its not from the inside like an rc body shell.. but from the outside , mean i'll have to spray the Black Colour FIRST this time.. then few layers of the PS46 on top.. and i hope it will show exactly like the RC body shell on this video.. (Wish me luck guys) Check my channels guys if you wanna see the PS46 on a Truggy F150 Raptor ;) enjoy
Why didn't you mark the body post holes before painting when it's much easier cause you can see through the body cause it's clear plus cutting out all the wheel wells etc is much better done before painting it cause the lines are more visible when the body is clear then with paint on it this video is really how you shouldn't prep before painting cause the steps I mentioned should be done before painting when it's much easier to get the body lined up correctly and the body cut being able to see the lines hmmmm 🤔🥴👎
