Thank you for watching this video! We are having a big push trying to get the subs up for the channel, please consider liking and subscribing and I am sure I will see you on another video!!👍👍❤✔
It looks really cool with that matte finish, and those wheels fit it really well, good job! I don't really know the Sand Scorcher, but with all the power on the rear, it'll definitely skid and spin some. I hope you figure a good upgrade to stabilise it. Great fun to watch, still!
It has the Tamiya BZ in it and the power is fantastic, once it gets traction, but then it starts going in any direction it deems fit. I will sort it. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed 👍
Hey great stuff guys. I think that the Brat tyres aren't much of an improvement over the paddle tyres really, especially without a diff. The Sand Scorcher with Hornet tyres on soft ground will grip like anything and would be my top tip. I did once try dying the Sand Scorcher wheels and it doesn't take and they did bend so it's good that you didn't try. I did try the same on Holiday Buggy wheels and it worked really well so depends on the type of plastic I guess. Anyway, good to see the Scorcher out and about. Best wishes to you both 🙂
I will use the paddle tyres for the right location, I may take them apart to try and paint them the same way. I’m sure we will get the steering sorted, as I really like this model. Hope all is good with you 👍
First of all, that's a dope-ass upgrade! For whatever reason, I love scale offroad tires. Now we need to see an upcoming video of a Lunchbox and a Clodbuster playing in the leaves.
Hi there the Sand Scorcher looks perfect with the Sand Blaster wheels & tyres, and great for some local park fun! The colour of the RC makes it more sinister looking, I’m looking out for some Mafioso! 😎😂😎 excellent run. Take care and best wishes 😁😊😉😎
@@RCsoandso Of COURSE in a great way! 👍 I've got a different way of making Videos too.... but I hardly get any views. And far less likes and comments. ☹️
@@CarmineRC well I’ve subbed. Sometimes it feels like you are creating for no one, but that is also liberating. Make a video you want to watch. I find my intros are challenging but it’s also fun to piece together. Biggest tip I can give is don’t worry, once something is released, forget about it and concentrate on the next project. Once it’s out there it’s out. Don’t sweat it if you enjoy it 👍
Looks great with the painted wheels!! It does look like a handful and I know these are not known for their wonderful steering features. It still looks fun though!
Again a great video. You have choosen the right tires for the driving on these hard surfaces. But I have to admit that I'm a fan of the paddle tires. Okay they're made for sand but they're still the cheapest of their kind available. So maybe you'll test them or some spiky tires before you'll adjust the steering. Have a nice weekend😉
I do hope the steering can be fixed as I really like this model, and I like how it looks, but currently it would be easier to steer a container ship 😆😂👍
It does suit this look far more, it also means the Paddle Tyres can be saved for beach runs. Tinkering is needed, but we are going into the off season. Hope all is well with you 👍
@@RCsoandso Yeah the summer is over and we are now into clean up season. Although I am planning on getting out with the Madbull and Lunchbox this winter 🥶
@@theoagrc 100% get out there. Although we bang on about the off season we film in the winter, footage and all that. I would even say that sometimes the clear winter mornings have great light for filming, sodding cold though! You never know, might see you when we are on our travels
im very much against gyros and never use them on any of my 2wd buggies or trucks. takes away all the fun! however.......i tried in in my sand scorcher and must admit that a gyro made a world of difference in control and handling. in concert with a rear diff, greatly stabilizes the car and makes it more fun to drive on hard compacted slippery sand. highly recommended if you haven't tried already.
Yeah they hold the value, but it is a great kit to build. The issue is the bumper, I wanted the box art bumper, and it wasn’t the cheapest of parts to source! 💰😱
great vid! liked. nice paint scheme simple yet different. I really like the brat wheels on the SS. thanks for the info will give it a try. I like the looks. which paint code is that grey?
Well it’s a real collection of grey. It’s TS4 German Grey, TS6 Matt Black, TS48 Gunship Grey, TS63 NATO black, TS67 UN Grey and the front is TS17 Aluminium. All the Grey’s nearly 😆😂👍
The wheels do looks awesome, I’m really happy with them. I would love 1k for Christmas but I don’t think I’m going to make it, I think people just think these videos are weird 🤪😂😆👍 (but I would love 1k for Christmas 🎄🎅🏻🤞)
As a member of the Sandscorcher worship cult, I must say that is a mighty fine looking specimen and the wheels look the beez kneez. More! More of that!
I put a ball differential in mine. They're almost uncontrollable with a locked rear end. Anywho, I painted my wheels and they fit together fine. Also just purchased a set of the Brat wheels and tires to throw on. Gonna paint those too.
To be honest I’m going to modify my front end steering as it’s awful especially with the wider wheels at the front, with luck it will make it more what it should be 👍
@@RCsoandso no secret the steering is trash on these to begin with. I have a similar, if not, the same, aluminum bumper up front as you do. Was hoping that would be enough to clear the wider front wheels, guess not lol Good thing we're handy.
Try Shapeways as they have a one piece steering arm and cheers for reminding my to finish my bling tango scorcher to go with my cancer one and me ranger lol
Shapeways do have some genius solutions to the problems that occur, I will check it out now. The bad weather is approaching so perfect time to get the projects done and dusted 👍
This is a question that is not about this model. It is a question about Support pins and e-clips versus the long and short hinge pins that split all Tamiya plastic support arms that are made of plastic. Was it you that said you can use a trick where you heat the pins up with a lighter and then send them into the plastic? Instead of the screw portion spilting after some years of sitting around or rough housing? Sort of using heat to deforn the plastic and the screw will seat into it and not stretch it apart.
No I haven’t used heat for the pins as I could imagine that long term it can create issues. I’ve used glue and thread lock in the past, but yes I think the ultimate solution is yet to be found 👍
