Welcome to this RC Channel where we look at Tamiya RC mainly, but not exclusively. We have in-depth reviews, modification hacks, running videos, tours and a healthy helping of absolute nonsense!
Remembering the fun from the 80’s and 90’s and bringing this up to date, now the budget isn’t restricted to pocket money (well it still is in a way!).
Fine purveyors of nonsense and waffle!

It makes a nice change to hear someone actually giving some praise to the MB01, all I've seen so far is negativity..... mainly due to the alleged slop. Must admit, I'm more of a 'vintage' enthusiast, although I'm very impressed with the various body's that are available for this platform. Its kind of bizarre really, everyone always hates on Tamiya for just bringing out re re's of old kits..... but then when they do bring out new models, people get so critical, and usually then say that they should just stick to doing re re's!! 🙄 Guessing a lot of us are just stuck in the nostalgic past...... who knows, maybe in another 30 years we will be raving over the MB01s, TD4s etc In the same way we currently rave over the lunchies, Avantes, and grasshoppers of the eighties? 🤔 Come to think of it..... how many of us will even still be here in another 30 years time? I can picture it now, all sitting in the old people's homes that always smell of wee and TCP..... the old grannies knitting, and us lot tinkering away on a Tamiya lunchbox doing our best to grasp the box wrench with our failing eye sight and arthritic fingers!!! 😂 Fun little run guys, those magnetic cones are every driver's rc nemesis! 👍 👍 👍
Years ago, my friend came up on an orange, Opel Cadet, way over here in California. I'm not sure how many were imported here, it was a left side drive so maybe it wasn't so rare, but I never saw, or have seen, another one in person. I really like this chassis tho. I've always been partial to the mini chassis, way back to the M01 in the form of a Mini Cooper. The M03 (also a Mini Cooper) was by my favorite. Some please tell me to put down my phone and resist the urge to buy, yet another, RC car...
I do like my little MB-01 Alpha Romeo (Italian Herbie!). There is a little bit of slop in it but nothing I was not able to shim out. The metal suspension pivot balls really do seem to help take up some of the wobble up front. It looked great sliding around and knocking over the occasional cone at the hall. I am sure it was lots of laughs with it out there! Take care guys!
I'm running a surpass hobby 17.5t in mine with the 17t pinion (19t overheats the motor) and it's extremely fast with the hobbywing 1060. Looks great. Good job Upgrade shocks to the plastic cvas if you put something faster in.
Hey good work on the body. I guess the real test of the paint will be it you land it upside down on some tarmac. One top tip to keep the sand out of these is to use a Sand Viper body under the Holiday Buggy body to act as a dirt guard. You do need to trim it a bit. Anyway top work as ever guys 😁👍👍
I am sure it will have a few tumbles, but that adds character, look at lunchbox shells, also I think the guaranteed way to keep sand out is to avoid the beach 🤣😂👍
I had the holiday buggy and my mate had the sand rover , both upgraded to the 540 silver can with 7.2 battery. From memory I think the chassis broke where the front shocks were mounted. Box art from memory , my next car was the frog
Here parents sent their children to a tent camp of the local church community, while enjoying their hollidays at more fancy places😂😂😂. Great design and run. Have a great weekend.
I must admit I’ve been curious about those American Camps they go to in films, but I believe they cost a fortune. I think I’ll just send him to his Grandmas instead, it’s free 🤣😂👍
I remember the Skate Shop near us used to hand out stickers, I think that’s why it was so busy, as no one could afford to buy anything from them, this also reminds me of playing Tony Hawks 2 to death on the original PlayStation! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed 👍
I’ve seen using flames does magical things on chemical level, but it’s knowing when to stop, I think if we tried it then we will have a melted body 🤣😂😂👍
Huge fan of the DT-02, although they really need oil dampers. I have stayed away from the holiday buggy because of the body...why can't they just make a lexan one? Or make it out of the same plastic as the lunchbox...gggggrrrrrrr Tamiya!!!
What a superb episode lads! Great work Chief..... that turned out superb, top job. Wow, that lunchie is like the rc car doctor who with all those regenerations! I wonder what it will be next time around, as long as it doesn't come back as a femail, or a......... well, let's not go down that route eh? I'm sure you catch my drift! 😉 I'm suprised how stable that was with little junior on its bed, looked great in action. Cool content guys, very enjoyable viewing. 👍 👍 👍
I think it has a couple more regenerations in it, but I will make sure it is retired if it ever gets to Capaldi, as we are not here to spread ‘The Message’ It is a bit touching cloth when it comes to hard turns but it did ok, I did wonder about a slower motor, but we will mull that over 👍
Great intro lads..... That really got me guessing where it was going for a minute, beautifully linked!! Don't you just love achieving the 'impossible'?!! I had full faith in the chief engineer, great job..... looks super cool, and loving the detail! She looked great on the beach spraying up the sand..... nicely captured. Funnily enough I'm actually doing a holiday buggy as we speak!! Getting one prepared for the @cw-01creations46 DT02 speed challenge! I'm doing a convertible, which will be driven by Mr Hanky the speed run poo (who was our mascot in the poor boys rc speed challenge last year) Hopefully it will go like s**t off a shovel! 💩 😂 👍 👍 👍
Hope you are going to paint it, although you may know this already but the reason Mercedes racing colour is silver, comes from it used to be white, but they determined that the lead in the white paint added a few fractions of seconds to the performance time so they stripped all the paint of and ran them just with the metal. Things you do for speed 🤔😂👍
@@RCsoandso Well then, you learn something new every day!! I never knew that about Mercedes. But yeah that's the idea with the holiday buggy - No hard plastic roof, no spot lights, no cockpit, no jerry cans on the side, and limited decals..... hopefully saving a bit of weight and making it more aerodynamic! Then we go and add a heavy poo driver..... go figure! 🤷♂️ 🙄 Still, it should be a bit of laugh anyway! 💩 😂 👍 👍 👍
Looks cool and I love the them of it! I am glad it ended up at the beach as the Cali beach buggy needed some sand to romp around in!!! I think the body is not bad to paint I just think it is difficult to keep the paint on it in the long run. Fingers crosses it stays on as I like the bright orange!!
Nice!, it would be nice to possibly have an update video a few months to year later to see how well the paint holds up, that might determine my decision of possibly getting this model
Nice work you guys. Peter Smith kindly made me a Lunchbox pickup shell which is rather cool. He used the back of the van as the back of the cab so it's got a curve to it. Love the idea of putting the little Lunchbox on top 😁👍👍
I am one of the original guys 😂 only green lights in n the black shell. But iam a friend of out of the box things 👍 I did build another body by hand out of hardfoam. I reconstructed a Hotwheels toy on the pc and build it around the cw01. Now I have a hot wheels slash cat for the cw01 wich can open its mouth with teeth, tongue.... 😂 Dogs like it@@RCsoandso
That is the coolest rendition to this date! I mean, sure I've got mine all stock plus bearings, so of course that's cooler than this. But this is cool AF
