LOL! Yeah A few folks mentioned Hank probably owned a gator farm and running moonshine has been mention to so I think by day he ran the gator farm and did the occasional shine run at night! More than likely with a gator in the back to make sure if stopped by the cops they would dare search the truck! LOL!
Look's Like a FUNTASTIC Time Painting Hank's Truck Brother Addam 🎉 RCF4L 😆💯🏁 Seems to Run Great in the Rough and Tumble with Plenty of Power 💪 I like the Aggressive Tire's too ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing =Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 SSPH =Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend 🌟 Blessings from The Great Smoky Mountains East Tennessee 🎉⭐🎉
Thanks Larry! It turned out pretty cool and it is a one of a kind for sure. It was a fun one to run but it does need some oil filled shocks on it to settle down those jumps and landings! Those will be going on soon!
I picture Hank (now long gone) looking down and smiling, seeing the body of his beloved delivery truck living a new life as a monster truck! Great work Addam! The patina look is fantastic!👍😊
Yeah, I thin ol Hank would be proud to see it out ripping around! A few have said Hank probably owned a gator farm and that fits perfectly! I am glad you enjoyed it Jeremy! I am going to stick some oil filled shocks on it and hopefully that helps with the jumps and landings!
LOL! It has been suggested by others that Hank owned a gator farm and possibly ran a little moonshine from time to time. I like that, I imagine hank as one of those guys missing part if not all of a finger! It was fun to see he old truck tumbling about!
It's funny how paint mistakes can become "Happy Little Accidents." - Bob Ross. 😅 But seriously, I like the way it came out, it looks awesome, Addam! 👌😊
Thanks Fil! I had planned the weathered look but it was going to be a little more subtle. The paint bleed turned it into a but gnarlier look and I am not mad about it! It was an adventure and now I have a one of kind. Once I started weathering it I thought this could have been a Sanford and Son panel van but it was too far along at that point!
Thanks! I was going for slightly less grungy but it works wells and I think ol Hank would approve! It was fun running ti around and not having to worry about a shiny new body getting scratched all up! If this gets scratched it is just more character! I am going to stick some oil filled shocks on it as the pogo shocks need to go!
I think box art there is no story needed but any time you are doing custom stuff I have to have some sort of backstory with it. So far with the help of other viewers the story is expanding! Hanks owned a gator farm and this was his work truck for there and occasionally he ran a little bit of moonshine with it as well!
Looked great. Trucking around the backyard jumping and falling over is what I imagine tamiya designed this one for. Just add a lunchbox and a blackfoot and a couple of buddies for laughs all around
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah it is definitely one to just take out and tumble and bumble around the yard with to put a smile on your face. I am curious what it will do around the track but I am goin to change to oil filled shocks first! It is too bouncy to try and keep it in the straight line around the track!
Well that turned out great! It looks very much like you said…dug it out from a swamp somewhere after years of sitting around. You were definitely right to switch out the wheels…white just wouldn’t have looked right. Mines taking some time to finish…I might have over planned this one lol - but if it all turns out I’m hoping you guys like it!
Thank! I was intending on barn find but ended up with swamp find instead! It turned out fine and 'ol Hank was fun to drive but those pogo shocks leave a lot to be desired so I will be upgrading those soon! You may have over planned, I don't think I planned enough! I was just winging it as usually with a general idea in my head. Even if I wrote down a plan I would probably loose it and still end up winging it! LOL!! I am sure yours will turn out very cool!
LOL Thanks Joe! It turned out pretty cool and it was fun tumbling around and not worrying a shiny new body getting scratched all up. I am going to toss on some oil fill shocks as the stock pogo ones are not up to the task at all! I hope that helps it jumping and landing a lot!
I like it Hanks swamp tour's? or hank's alligator tour's I really like it I think it turned out awesome looks like it's been sitting in a barn for 40years even you have said some of the biggest mistakes turn into a masterpiece fantastic work Addam and great run 👊
Thanks Mark, I am glad you liked it! I am pretty sure Hank would have owned a gator farm! I am sure he is also missing some part of or possibly an entire finger too! I sat there for a long time looking at the body trying to find a name fitting for it and the door size. It seemed like Hank would be the kind of guy to grab a old brush and some house paint and do his own lettering job on his work truck! I had a great time driving it around and Hank is gonna get some oil shock on it very soon, those pogo shacks have to go! Take care mate and have a great weekend!
Thanks! It got a little more swampy as it went along! I was going for barn find and ended up with drug out of a swamp! LOL! In the end it turned out cool and was fun so that is all that matters!
Thanks! Yeah, I was scrolling through the song list I have and though that first one was perfect for it! I need to download some new music but YT new music area is such a pain in the rear to use now. It is the one thing I really hate about the platform, it used to be so simple!
Imperfectly perfect! In my head it was going to be more of an old barn find project but ended up being more of a 'abandoned in a swamp' project. Either way it did turn out cool, more grungy than I intended but it is a one of a kind! Old Hank would be proud!
I didn't even think of that! Dang it Bobby!! From collaboration with others it seems Hank owned a gator farm and would occasionally run moonshine at night in his work truck. He always had a live gator in the back just in case the cops stopped him, that way they wouldn't dare search the back of his truck. 😂 Hank Hill is a funny one too!
Well thank you! I had not intended it to go quite that grungy looking but it turned out well and it was nice to be able to go out and tumble it around without worrying about a brand new shiny body getting scratched all up! I was going for barn-find but I got swamp-find instead. It just has a slightly different backstory to it! LOL!!
Now that is a awesome looking Squish Van, I like how you put it into perspective on how you came up with the paint scheme. I think you did the pulling it out of the swamp and make a monster truck out of it. The cracked window in the back and the dirty front window you nailed it!!! The slow mo footage does catch the true bounce like a real monster truck (and some of the flips)🤣🤣🤣 I can hear you laughing in the background enjoying this Squish Van. Take care and best wishes to you and the family and thanks for the smile.
Thanks Al! It was a interesting journey getting it painted and somethings went a little sideways but in the end it came out cool. I did have fun running it and it was nice for a change to not have to worry about a shiny new body getting all scratched up on the first run. If this gets scratched then it just adds character! LOL! Take care my friend and I am glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, in person and in the outdoor pics you can see it much better. The video camera tends to smooth everything out too much. I liked the cracked window in the back!
The panel truck turned out great. You have painted the perfect picture with that design. It runs how I would have expected it to. I can not wait to build mine. Waiting till I move into my new house It has more room. I'm so excited to start. Great video
Thanks! It turned out pretty cool, not quite what I had in my head but this works!! Once you get around to building your go ahead and grab some better shocks for it, the stock ones are not great but it is not surprising. Congrats on moving into a bigger place, sorry you have to pack up and move though. That part of it is never any fun!
Hats off Addam! The devils in the detail and you’ve certainly put a lot of effort in which work perfectly. I don’t think you over done the grunge look at all. 😎
Thanks Owen, I appreciate that! It turned out pretty cool. I was going for more of a barn-find look but ended up with a pulled out of a swamp look which works too! Old Hank would be proud to see his old work truck out romping around and looking so cool!
Thanks, I wanted it to be a bit different as I was not in love with the box art. It was not perfectly what I had in my head but it is close enough and I have not seen another like it!
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it! I thought about trying to weather and rust up the white wheels but the way the design is in there it was going to be rather tedious and I found the silver ones and they fit in much better overall. There is already enough white, well used to be white, on the truck already!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah I agree Addam, the white wheels with that design on them wouldn't look right (because I tried). If they were the old Blackfoot wheels in white, would've looked great to do that weathered look. The silver wheels compliment the body really well. Super job.
Hi Addam, great job with the Squish van! Love the wheel and tyre choice, definitely a nice upgrade. Cool that you put your own mark on the body, I really like the creativity you put into it and it came out fantastic. I think the fictitious Hank would have loved this truck! You sure gave it a good thrashing out there and I know it was good fun 'cos I heard you laughing! Looks nippy enough! Take care dude! 😎👊👍
Thanks Mark! I did like the box art colors but the decals and name didn't excite me so I went off and got creative! I had not intended it to be quite so grungy but it worked out well in the end. A few mentioned Hank probably owned a gator farms and that fits perfectly!! I am sure ol Hank would be proud of the creation. It was nice to not have to worry about a shiny new body getting scratched up out there. If this gets scratched it is just more character! I am going to put on some oil filled shocks to try and smooth out the jumps and landings, I think that nose dive had a lot to do with those shocks! It was a blast to drive and maybe with new shocks a peppier motor can go in too!
You had me at a brushed motor I absolutely love how you did the windshield how it looks like the mud has been wiped out of the way I keep seeing the " dirty truck " and I just want to clean it lol
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it! I don't mind them looking dirty as long as they are not dirty! I have very few that will get put away with even dirt on the tires, those are the just fun runners with no attachment to them. This one will get cleaned up today and up on the shelf all clean and perfectly grungy! LOL!
Thank you very much! It is a one of a kind for sure! I liked the box art colors but now a big fan of the decals so I went all out and changed everything! I am glad you enjoyed it!!
You nailed the look on that Addam!! Brilliant idea and well executed. The grunge worked excellent my friend and just shows how inspiration comes from mistakes 😁🍻
Thanks Craig! I am glad you enjoyed it! I had more of a slightly rusted and banged up barn find but ended up wit a truck drug out of the swamp instead! Either way it turned out cool and it was nice running it around not worrying about scratching the new, shiny body! It is a great wat to salvage a poor paint job for sure!
Love it mate! Really feeling that Addam..... that turned out so cool. 👍 Great to see someone letting their creative juices flow, it's definitely that sort of truck. I think the weathering was spot on, especially on the windows with the wiper arc etc! Good decision on the tyre swap, there's definitely a real difference in compound between the blackfoot and the monster beetle rubbers. It certainly looked like a real fun drive, and it loved a bit of air time over the ramps! Sounded like you were enjoying it to, win win for sure. 😊 👍 👍 👍
Thanks James! It did not come out quite like I had envisioned it in my head but often that's the case! It still turned out cool and I don't think there is another one out there looking like this so that is cool. I liked the box art colors but the name and the decals were not doing it for me so I went off on my own adventure to make it unique. I do like the MB tires on there but it does make it easier to tip over in the corners, not slide with them on the moss covered lawn! Maybe on the track it have a bit more slide to it. It was fun to drive and I enjoyed it. I am going to stick some oil filled shocks on it so get rid of the bounce and hopefully make it jump a bit better. It think a lot of the nose dive off the ramp was caused by the generic pogo shocks it has on there. I am glad you enjoyed it and have a great Sunday!
@@AddamsPlayground I would have to agree with you about the original name mate! But that finish you done gave it heaps of character..... almost like something you would expect to see on an American horror film.... I was half expecting a chainsaw slinging psycho to jump out the front seat! 😂 I see your point with the shocks, but at the same time (as with the CWO1's) I think the bouncy nature of the pogos actually makes it a very fun drive! Yep, those spikes on those monster beetle tyres really grip hard lol.... When I fully restored an original 86 beetle a few years back to mint condition I wanted to test it all worked before shelfing it. So I took it up our 'tarmac' close and back..... yep, you guessed it, as I turned round the new tyres gripped so hard that I flipped it. Totally wrecked the paint job that I had just put so much time and effort into! I suppose it just proves how good those chevron spikes actually work! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Sir. 👍 👍 👍
Thank you! It turned out pretty cool and the best thing is I didn't have to worry about scratching a shiny new body. If this gets scratched it just adds character.
Hey Addam, see, the legend known as Bob Ross, has been ingrained in all of us RC Modellers, and we have ‘happy accidents’ not mistakes 😂😊😂😎🖐️😎I think ‘Hank’ for a truck name is perfect and in keeping with the theme, I would say so ‘American’ 😊😂😊it’s looks amazing, 😊😊nicely saved 😊😊
Yeah, Bob taught us all to keep going and an accident can result in a positive outcome! It turned out pretty cool in the end. With help from others in the comments we have determined Hank owned a gator farm and occasionally would run moonshine at night in his truck. He always did it with a big gator in the back so if stopped by the cops they wouldn't dare search his truck!! 😂
Thanks Glenn! When I decided to no go box art I went way far away from it for sure! I am pretty ol Hank would be proud to see his truck now! LOL! Only thing I want to change is those bouncy pogo shocks, once those are gone it should drive and jump a bit better!
Thank you! Yeah, it can be difficult to to get that mental image to come to life exactly the way you want a lot of times. It is much easier to build paint and a detail in your hear than right in front of you, plus everything always goes to plan in your head LOL!!! It still turned out looking cool and it is a one of a kind for sure!
Ha ha, Hank's truck is cool! I like the story behind it, he just grabbed some house paint and added his name on it, yup! Yeah, my last two RC car paint attempts have both ended in needing to paint on the outside of the body, ha ha, sometimes it just goes that way... Looks like a fun truck, just forget the silly name, ha ha... Have a great weekend there, buddy!
Thanks Mads! I am glad you like it! I thought I had given it enough time in between coats but I think I got a little heavy on that second coat of white and just a small amount of red got in it but is sure does show up super bad in the white! I was going for a barn find truck but ended up with one drug out of a swamp instead! In the end it turned out well and I had a blast driving it. It really does need some better shocks though!!! Take care Mads and I hope you have a great weekend too!
Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it. I did think about dusting the chassis with the airbrush to age it a little bit but decided it is was a new truck they stuck on old body on. I liked the box art colors but just can't get excited about the decals so ventured off into my head and came up with this. I found about 13 other ideas along the way but stuck with this one! LOL!
Love it. I’d do midnight pumpkin tires.. I love the look of those.. I dig the patina. If I get one of these, I think I’d do a patina midnight pumpkin theme
Thanks Thad! I thought about the MP tires and wheels but opted for the taller ones from the MB. I did really like Steve's MP one he did, that would have taken a lot less time but I was already committed to this by the time I saw his done! I thought maybe I could have painted it a bright color and called it the mid-day pumpkin LOL!!!
It was fun! I think some oil filled shocks will really help it out a lot! That is the next thing to happen to it. If it helps enough then maybe a bit faster motor too.
It happens, my ADD gets the best of me and I find 15 other things to do instead of the one or two things I should be doing. It happens all the time! I still get a chuckle of imagining a board room full of suits picking the Squash Van name and being excited about it! I am glad you like the different spin on the paint, I like the box art colors but not really the decals so I went way off into left field and did my own thing!
I did like the box art colors but I could not find it in me to like the decals and the name. So I went off and let me imagination do its thing and came up with this. I was going for a little less weathered but it still came out looking cool and no worries about scratching the shiny new body when driving it so that was nice! I am going to stick some oil filled shocks on there, I think that will help it out a lot.
Wow! It looks awesome Addam!! It looks like a fun truck to bash around too!! I'm thinking about getting one and putting "Sanford & Son" on the side!! 😂
Thank you! I was telling Fil earlier that once I was almost done with it I thought I should have done a Sanford and Son theme to it instead! It would look cool like that!! Maybe one of these days when spare bodies are available I may do it as well!
Your paintjob's so awesome🤩. Running looks like fun. But somehow, I might be wrong, had expected some more humpf. But all in all a great truck. Have a great weekend Addam.
Thanks Dirk, I am glad you like the grungy paint job! It is a little slow on the Torque Tuned motor, I may stick a faster one in there after I go to the oil filled shocks. It is too bouncy for anything much faster at the moment! I did have to slow way down for the turns or it wanted to roll and I ended up having to slow down for the jump or it fipped and tumbled every time. I think with better shocks I could hit the jump at speed and it would be fine. Shocks are the next thing and then maybe a motor! Take care and have a great weekend!
Thanks Mark! It is a one of a kind for sure! It was a fun run but I do want to put some oil filled shocks on it to stop the bouncing and hopefully the bucked off the ramp! It did make for some cool tumbles though.
Thanks! I am glad you liked it. I did like the box art colors but the stickers and name didn't excite me. I got a true one of a kind now for sure! Ol Hank would be proud of his old truck now I think!
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it. It is not quite what I had in my head but I am happy with it. It took a few turns along the way but ended up looking cool and was fun to drive. It really needs some oil filled shocks on it though. Those pogo ones need to go away!
Hey nice one Addam. It's a great save from a little painting mistake. It does look like it has been going mouldy for a few years. I do need to get one of these. Looks like fun. Cheers for now mate 😁👍
Thanks Pete! It is a fun one to build and run. I would recommend some oil shocks for it as it is a big bouncy and springy feeling on the friction shocks. Otherwise it seems pretty stout and the body is very thick so it should take plenty of tumbles in stride. Take care and have a great week!
I started laughing when you said your going to take it out and get some nice pictures of it before it gets dirty! At least with this one you don't have to worry about getting it dirty! Hank was a nose diving!! I found when your a couple feet in front of the jump let off the throttle and then as the truck or any car that nosedives is right in front of the start of the ramp give it gas and it makes it launch level and land better. Hank took a good beating that's for sure!
Yeah, ironic statement for sure! I like the fake dirty but the dirty dirty I can't! They have to be clean to go back on the shelf! The nose diving was a big issue, if is slowed down like you said it did better and if I hit it at an angle it did not buck so badly. Ditching those pogo shocks will help a lot I think. That is the next step is getting some decent shocks on it and then trying it out again. It was nice taking a new one out and not worrying about scratching the shiny new body! If this gets scratched it just adds to the look of it!
Thanks! It turned out slightly different than originally planned but still turned out cool! It was a fun one to run and I think with swapping some oil filled shocks onto and ditching the stock pogo sticks it will drive and jump much better next time!
Thanks Trey, it took a few turns along the way but it is a one of a kind and looks pretty cool. It was nice not having to worry about scratches on a brans new truck too! LOL! The shocks do need to be replaced. Way to bouncy and the rear end kicking up on the jump was annoying! Take care bud. I have most of the package for you ready, I am searching for something I know I have but do not remember where I put it (as usual!!) It will be in the mail early next week!
@@AddamsPlayground I was thinking the same thing - with a roughed up look, even though it’s brand new, even if it gets scratched up - it’ll just add to the character. Appreciate the care package info, no rush. Really like how Hank’s Squishy van turned out. The grey wheels definitely worked well. Doing a weathering effect on the white wheels might be a fun twist in a year or so to refresh it. Similar back story with some rust and really dingy looking. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Keith! It was different in my head but that is usually the case! It ended up looking cool in the end and it was fun tumbling around without worrying about scratches on a shiny new body!
Thanks Richard! It turned out pretty cool and it did some tumbling around out there!! I think it really needs a set of oil dampers on it to settle it down off the jump and the landings! It was a fun run since there were no worries about scratching up a shiny new body! 😂
Hey Addam, just noticed while watching you hit 5K subscribers!! Congratulations!! The truck looks awesome how it is, and like the Mississippi backstory that goes with it haha!!
Thanks Robby! It is cool to see another milestone go by. I never thought it would ever get this big! Ol Hank's truck looks pretty neat. With the help of others the backstory is Hank owned a gator farm but occasionally ran a little moonshine in his work truck. He always did it with a gator in the back so the cops would never search his truck if he got stopped! 😂
Thank you! Yeah, I was going to dull them down and rust them up but I thought if this is a "new" build with a junker body they would put new wheel on it. The grey seemed more fitting. I am sure ol Hank would be proud of his old work truck out romping around like that!!! LOL!
Thank you Nanni! It is a great option to do when you have messed up a paint job and don't want to strip it, just make it a muddy, rusty mess and then it is perfect again! It is also a good way to cover up scars and scrapes on an older shell. Just clean it really well, spray it with the flat clear on the outside and then add you weathering and seal it all with another coat of flat clear and you have renewed it!
Thanks! It turned out pretty cool! With the help of others in the comments it seems Hank owned a gator farm and occasionally ran a bit of moonshine with his work truck. He always did it with a live gator in the back as no cop would search the back of a truck with a gator in it!
Awesome, that makes me smile! I am glad you enjoyed it. I will be getting some oil filled shock on this and trying it out again. Those stock pogo shocks did not help it out at all! It did make for some funny tumbles!
Thank you!! It turned out pretty cool and it was a fin first run. It needs some oil shocks on it to smooth out those jumps! It was nice running a new build and not worrying about the shiny new body getting scratched up for a change!
I think the body looks great out in the sun. It looks a lot of fun. I think kids would get a lot of laughs running in then backyard. It may be the somersault king. All you need to display is a background of an old garage with Hank standing next to the truck. Of course his real name is Henry. I think you made a nice recovery from the painting error. I have had many errors and usually because I don't want to wait.
Thanks Michael. It does look better in person and out in the sun. The video camera doesn't do it justice! Ol Hank would be proud to see it ripping around I am sure! (Henry is only his government name!) A couple folks said Hank probably owned a gator farm which works perfectly! LOL! I was trying to be patient with the paint but there is something with the Tamiya white that does like to melt into the the other colors already on there! From now own I am using the Traxxas white as it does not do that!
@@AddamsPlayground I hate to differ, but Hank is a cigar smoking truck driver. My late Uncle Henry was called Hank by his brother and sisters. He smoked cigars, was a truck driver, and coal miner. I am going to have to try then Traxxas paint.
@@michaeldorich4485 fair enough and I can see that. The Traxxas paint does well and dries fast. It plays well with the Tamiya paints but they do need to be cured or it can cause slight wrinkling but I have never had any real adverse reactions
Thank you! It is a bit more than I had envisioned but it turned out pretty cool! I liked the box art colors but not a fan of the decals so I went way far away from it to make a one of a kind one instead!
Thanks! I am always going to think something isn't right with them! It is more than I envisioned in my head so to me it looks like too much. I will admit it is still cool and a one of a kind! It was nice taking the first drive and not worrying about scratching a shiny new body!
Thanks Dom! It looks and ran pretty good. I do want to stick some oil dampers on it as these pogo shocks are just not cutting it. I think that was part of the reason it was bucking so badly off the ramps. It was still fun though!
I think the Swamp Thing suits the name better on this one dude 😊 looked great running a super fun truck.. shame they didn’t include oil shocks.. cool music to 😊 Pete
Yes! Swamp Thing is perfect! I was originally going for a barn find look but it took a few turns and ended up in the swamp! In the end it worked out and looks cool. I do feel like they should never included pogo shocks on their off road kits. Even a cheap RC from amazon now will come with oil filled shocks most times. I think the cheapy fixed piston ones they offer would be a much better option and not increase their cost but maybe a $1-2 so they could charge $5 more and we would not have to bouncy all over the place! Glad you enjoyed it Pete!
Thank you!! I liked the box art colors but could not get excited for the name or the decals so I went down my own road with this one. It was not quite what I had in my head but it is close and still turned out looking cool. I was also nice to take out a new truck and not have to worry about the shiny body getting scratched. If this one gets scratched it just adds some character! It was a fun drive but it really needs some oil dampers on it to settle the bounce down. I think it will also help it off the ramp to and not nose dive so hard. Take care my friend!
Thanks Paul! It was not the barn-find look I was going for but it still turned out pretty cool! Ol' hank was fun to drive but sure could use some oil filled shocks on it! Those pogo shock shot it off the ramp weird every time!
Yes Addam. That looks awesome. Not perfect you say? I disagree. And absolutely Unique. IMO I love the direction you took with this body. Right down to the Name. "Hanks" lol She looked good out there ripping around as well. Actually looked like a fun rip. Seemed to stay on it's wheels for the most part and Was holding up out there
Thanks Nick, I am glad you enjoyed it! In my head it was going to be more a barn-find project and it ended up getting drug out of a swamp kind of truck. It still turned out looking cool and it was a fun on to drive. Some oil filled shocks on it and I think it will be a lot better! Those pogo shock made it hard to get over the jump without kicking the rear way up and tumbling. The good thing about the very weathered paint job is I had no worries about it getting messed up and scratched and scarred! I think with some good shocks it will be a lot more fun and stable.
Thank Brent! I was intending on the barn find look but ended up with drug out of the swamp look! It still worked out in the end and Hank was fun to drive and not worry about scratching a shiny new body!
Love it!c Have never seen that kit before. Love the change you made and made it your own. My Frogger/Monster Beetle is almost done. Painting a body for it soon and will email you so you can give me your feed back. Love your videos they make my day. And by the way you will get a kick outta your Grasshopper Jr kit you have. I found an original Grasshopper 2 Jr kit for 50.00 and made it match my 88 Grasshopper 2 i got in Japan back in 88. Even put the batteries in for a few mins. Please do that one soon so i can see yours.
It is a neat truck and a new one from them so it was an interesting build. It is similar to their 6x6 trucks. I look forward to seeing your build! I am glad you are enjoying the videos as well! The little JR kits are fun ones to build, it just wish the tracks for them were not so expensive! It would be fun to run them around the little track occasionally but not for the cost of the track kit! LOL!!! Take care and more fun stuff is coming!
LOL! Thanks Luke! It was fun running around and not having to worry about the shiny new body getting scratched up! Any scratches in this it is just going to add character!
I really wish I had bought this one. I still plan to but it'll be a while. I gotta get my first Kyosho. That's a unique choice to give it an old service station type truck look! I like it. I guess it's more of an old swamp truck as you said LOL
Yeah, get the Kyosho first! This will be around for a while and possibly cheaper in about 6 months. I have a feeling they flew off the shelves at first but the restocks are going to sit around for a while. It is a cool truck but I think with the other kits coming out and the newness is wearing off they will be readily available for a while. I liked the box art colors but I am not a fan of the name or the door stickers so I just went all in and did something completely different!
G'day there mate😁🙋♀️, Sorry but we both have to respectfully disagree with you.... It's absolutely perfect mate👌🥇. We have an old white aluminium boat outside in the weather that has all the moss and fungus etc on it and that's what we thought of with Hank's and the murky windows, great work Addam we'd buy that off the shelf. Cool music to go with it too😁. Thanks for sharing your Squishy van mate👍 and we're sorry for our late comment. We wish you a fantastic week 🙋♀️🤠🦘🙏
Thanks Guys! It was just not what was in my head so I there is a little bit of disappointment for me in it but it is so much easier doing this stuff in your head. It always goes right in your head LOL!! It still came out cool and it does loo like it has been drug out of a swamp and put onto a new monster truck frame! It was a fun run too and I was laughing a lot at it tumbling around. I am going to stick some oil dampers on it to try and smooth it out and hopefully take the jumps a lot better. It was ice to run a new build and not worry about putting a scratch on the shiny new body! You don't need to apologize for not watching or commenting right away, it is all good! Life is busy and lord knows there is too many videos to watch them all!! Take care guys and have a great week!
@@AddamsPlayground The translation from your head to the actual job looks spot on mate😁. Imagine a crusty looking driver sitting behind the dirty glass👌. Oh yeh we love the run as well, great smiles and it went well too. Be good to see it in action with oil shocks. We didn't get to watch any videos yesterday from memory, I was mentally exhausted but that's ok we made up for it tonight. Thanks Addam👍
Thanks! I was sitting there staring at it wondering what name to put on the door and Hank seemed like the type of guy that would hand brush some house paint on the side and stand back and be proud! I have no idea why but that's how that happened! LOL!
Thanks! It got a little grungier than I had expected but it still turned out pretty cool. I am sure ol Hank would be proud to see his old work truck out flying around!
Definitely tucked away way back in the woods for a long time! Others mentioned Hank probably owned a gator farms which fits well but a guy like Hank probably did some midnight runs of hooch here and there too!
I think the theme and paint job are great tbh. Myself and my son jokingly call it the Van of Disappointment. Maybe it's me but I was hoping for a bit character like a Lunchbox but I've found it a bit boring to drive. I keep meaning to see I can find some parts from another Tamiya to widen the stance, I think that would help it a lot. And I was genuinely shocked how hard the tires are, they almost feel like plastic haha.
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! I was very tippy out there but that mossy yard of mine is like driving on carpet. I am not sure what arms would work to widen it but another 1 inch of stance you make it super stable. Those Blackfoot tires have always been harder than most, I think the wide tread and shorter sidewall makes them feel stiffer.
LOL! I was just responding to Fil and told him I was most of the way through the paint job and though this would make a cool Sanford and Son panel van but it was a bit too late at that point! And of course I have that song stuck in my head now too! LOL!
Thank you! I did not mind the box art colors, just was not a fan of the name and the graphics on the door. I went slightly different than Tamiya and I like it!
Thank you! I do have one I need to build soon, Rick from Empty Pockets RC sent me the Heavy Metal version of it. I do like the standard version too as it is like an old school Tonka truck came to life! I had not noticed they had them in stock. That could be a future project as well for me! Have fun with yours!!!
It looks so good!...I cancelled my order with TH for obvious reasons lol, but I'll probably pick this one up at some point. How does it feel driving around? Those tires are so hard, wish they included different ones. It probably needs some "tuning" to make it handle better, it just loves to roll doesn't it 😂
Thanks! It was fun driving it but it really could use some oil dampers on it. Those will be going on shortly and I will get it out again. With the MB tires on there is was a bit tippy if you turned too hard or too fast. It might be why they went with the BF tires to let it slide a bit more and not grab and tip. It was a fun to romp around with and that is what it is made for.
Looks like old work truck looks OK how did you get grey wheels are they dyed! Also seeing it run front looks to heavy when it jumps. Is it slower or faster than monster beetle
I am glad you liked it! The wheels the did in several colors, white, grey, yellow and I think in blue for one truck but not 100% sure. These grey ones came on the Wild Dagger truck originally, the part number # 0445720. Some of the nose dive is the generic pogo shocks on it, with some oil filled shocks it should be much better and jump a lot flatter. I am going to do those next.
Thanks, I am glad you liked it! I do have it in a couple colors on my t-spring site. I need to go in there and update things, I just never remember to go do it! addams-playground.creator-spring.com/apparel
Thanks! I am glad you liked it. It turned out a bit different than I intended but was still cool in the end. I think so some oil dampers will really help out the running and I am going to stick some on and give it another go soon to see if it will take the jumps a bit better.
LOL! No it struggled a bit. Those pogo shocks on it do not help it out at all! I am going to stick some oil filled shock on it and see how much better it does with those on there. I think it will help out a lot!
@@swimpsmagbayao9513 If I hit it full throttle it was bucking the rear up badly. If I backed off and then hit it under throttle it did ok, still not great.
Thank you, glad you liked it! So far from some others contributing Hank owned a gator farm and occasionally ran a little moonshine around at night with his panel van. I can certainly see him being a general handy-man folks called on as well! LOL!
