I completely agree with the trailer legs being a bit pointless. You still have to bend down and disconnect the lights by hand. I've had electric legs fitted to one of my trailers and it's not had batteries in for them for over 8 years. Many people sell trailers with the "it's got electric legs" selling point, but fail to remove the part on the truck (the 5th wheel) that actuates the electric legs, thus rendering them useless to the new owner. I only use a Smart Electronics Power Screwdriver, which I can set the torque on, for small wheel bolts that are metal bolts into metal thread or nuts.
Work in progress but all the better for it.. I have a tanker trailer (in box still) to build, but I plan to paint it white as in the modern Shell look, I find the chrome finish to reflective, I keep looking at wireless trailer electrics, but not yet taken the unge.. So bending it is.. Look forward to the next installments.. Thanks as always.
@@IanSparksRC very nice Ian, thanks for the reminder, I would have watched but did not remember, as it happens my dad worked for Esso Purfleet and I served my time at Shell Haven Refinery, and I have bought some large Shell decals to go on when finished.. I think the tanks looks great in white, as yours does.. White it will be.. And I already have the paint..
Hi Ian,any chance you sell a set of electric legs? I have the exact same trailer and as the unit has the period electronics I'd like a set for it! Appreciate your views on them but just an extra bit of period bling lol. Derrick.
