I don't understand y everybody that watches a video on RU-vid don't just hit the like button. That's the first thing I do when I click on a video before it comes on. That's how I keep up with if I've seen that video already. Because the like button will stay black until u unlike it. That and if someone is going out of their way to and spending the time to make a video the least thing a person that's watching it can do is hit the like. Even if they didn't. But this was a good one👍
I feel the same way. Josh puts a lot of time, money, research, and personal knowledge out there for us to binge on. Anything uploaded on this channel is a must watch in my books. But alot of people are not thinking about what goes into a video these days and it's just taken for granted unfortunately. Great history lesson once again sir 👏. If you need that part made up just let me know I would be happy to help 😀
Thank you guys for the support. I know not everyone has the same taste in rc. I have an eclectic taste to say the least. These old cars are what really captivated me growing up and were the foundation for the custom builds. A big part of my rc journey so I have to share them. Cheers to you guys 🍻
Josh's production values are consistent and really good. It's R/C Everyday, not Same ol' R/C Thing Everyday. RCE has got a good mix, but stays inside the lane, doesn't go too far from the core subject.
My first RC car 30 years ago, just found it from my parents house, im restoring it at moment it brought back the happiest memories of my childhood. Honna make it really nice again to pass on to my kids
Just picked up 1st Tamiya road chassis, I really wanted a Mercedes CLK body from Tamiya and decided to just buy the kit. TT01 Chassis, I remember these cars when I worked a part time job at Colpar Hobbies in Denver and did my Continental Airlines job at night. I really don't know much about the Tamiya on road cars and didn't personally think much of the cars they were putting out at the time but the F1 cars were FAST. I poke a lot of fun at Gavin, pretty sure you know who I am talking about;). But he's worn me down and I bought one, a great You Tuber just like you! So I am eventually going to put the CLK body and wheels and tires on something rear wheel drive. I may sell or trade this TT01 chassis on. There is another Tamiya chassis I think I want to take a shot at. But my vote is in that you continue to do Tamiya Time periodically. I like your take on it and case in point never had heard of the HPI chassis pan. So I hope you continue to do this.
Man really, i love this skyline r32! Have a Kyosho 1:18 Diecast model of this car and an unbuilt tamiya r32 shell with mci decals and the right rims. Some time i will come around and build it. It's such a beautiful car.
Very nice find my favorite car from that line. Happy to see that you are becoming a curator for all the rc's that I wished for when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
I think a set of HPI Tires and wheels were probably a day 2 modification for every early Tamiya Touring Car back in the day usually people either got the super slicks or the Super Radials like your example here I still have a couple cars on the latter belted X Radials which were what I actually raced on until some of the other brands like Ride etc became more widely available
WOW! I have that frame but the one I have came with the Tamiya Toyota PreRunner kit. That second frame with the slick tires you pulled out with the short front bumper I think is from the Toyota PreRunner kit. I got my kit when I was 13 years old. So, I've put some wear and tear on it. I actually pulled it out the other day thinking I was going to start drawing up all the parts in CAD to print them out. Actually a little jealous that you have them kits in that well of condition.
They still make a lot of parts for them. Even a full kit with the opel calibra body. I have one of the “off road” versions like yours is I haven’t shown on the channel yet that has the Chevy s10 body. Those toyota bodies are hard to find now days. That would be awesome to draw and make your own replacements though💪
I've made a few replacement parts but most of the stuff I do are modified parts. That reminds me, I need to put more of the things I made on thingiverse.
Your eclectic style suits me just fine… just starting to get into Tamiya and Tamiya vintage along with the Kyosho stuff… beautiful cars and builds. Thanks for sharing!!! (@rhinoheadrc). Love your builds man!
