Weirdly, only the TT-02RR and SR have hex hardware. But to be honest, it wouldn’t really cost Tamiya much more if they did include Grade 10.9 or 18/8 stainless hardware as the screws themselves are cheap as chips! I’ve done that to my TT-02R clone and while it’s a small cost, it really is much nicer to use M3 hex screws in place of the JIS self-tapping screws. I’m thinking of switching to all aluminum M3 hardware to save weight but rebuilds will be a nightmare, especially if I strip or snap off the head of even one of those aluminum bolts. As for shocks, I’m quite surprised you didn’t go for Yeah Racing Shock Gear version or even the Yeah Racing QUTUS. I like the QUTUS and have them on my R clone too. The downside is that it only likes 100-300cst. Anything heavier and it’s no different than the “pogo sticks” that come in the kit. But definitely, one of the biggest upgrades you can make to the chassis are bearings and oil shocks.

The shocks I just wanted to try some fastrax ones on it and they seem really good so far but I do like yeah Racing stuff too :)

These are oil filled shock upgrade but come empty, no oil inside. Are you planning to add oil?

Yeh they come empty as you would need to use different oil for on or off road and they fit any tt02 I run 550cst in mine at the min

@@WTFRCCars fair play bud, as in the video the unboxing and install before filling with oil i thought you may have left them empty. Keep up the videos bud. Good to watch

Yeh I filled them before the vid and put it in the description what oil I used :) they do work well but think the springs are a little hard for a touring car may have to find some softer ones or try the stock tamiya springs :)

@@WTFRCCars i have these shocks and Fastrax do springs part number FAST155-S. There are 3 different spring ratings in there for these shocks ;-)
