Tamiya Vintage Super Sabre - Model 58066 

The Super Sabre was my first Tamiya buggy when I was a kid. Wonderful memories!

Flash Back! omg was about 10yrs old when i got the SS after i had the grasshopper. Every one else had the Hornet thats all i remember how fast the Hornet was but go off-road & the Sabre could catch up in no time. i Still remember how long it took me to assemble that rear gear. I thought seeing the driveshaft was the coolest thing ever

P.S. Seeing that front bumper again its amazing how it blends in still by being so large! Oh and that big ole helmet on the driver lol

Wooooow brings back memory when I was 11 when me and my brother bought the jeep Wild Willy and we was racing with a friend who had the Super Sabre. Thank you my man for this video 👍😁

that torsion bar up front is kinda neat sticking out

I got mine in late 1988 and still have it. I've not run it for a number of years now. The batteries only last about 7 minutes. Seemed fast enough at the time.

Great review and nice to see yours in such good condition. I just remember mine being so much slower than my mate's Hot Shot II. Even when i put ball racers in it.

I had one of them,looking to buy one now but as you say hard to come by.

I like your vids i checked out your other vid showng your collection laid out on the garden made me feel a little better as i have around the same amount of cars lol. once you are bitten by the collectors bug it pretty hard to stop buying them are you a member of tamiyaclub or tamiyabase? they are both friendly collectors sights? my super sabre had the same problem with the rear arms splitting in fact most parts on it were damaged and needed replacing which wasnt cheap but it looks great sitting on the shelf :)

I've resurrected mine and wonder where to find the spare parts? Front shock absorber and, as you say, before long the arms as they have cracks.
