I really cant help but feel like they exploited Tammie's cooky personality in her edits in order to disguise the fact that she is actually really intelligent and aware of the production issues, and could have possibly posed a threat to the shows reputation if her speaking out against them ever gained attention.
Disagree. Tammie made tons of fans. I think people knew how smart Tammie was. Tammie is what made that first season entertaining and likely is responsible for getting a second season.
@@twoboysmom7423 I think both your points are true. just because production TRIED to do something doesn't mean they were successful. Trinity K Bonet tried too.
I just want everyone to know that Tammie Brown was doing an Instagram live and when I asked her, if she was an animal what animal would she be, she said "I'm quite partial to the orca whale." I love Tammie so much.
Omg yes, this!! I was so shook, that being Native American myself, growing up my whole life on this reservation, and I had never heard anything about that until I was about 22!!! I’m now 30. It’s insane how white washed this country has tried to make us. Thank god for all those people out there who don’t care what color anyone’s skin is, and who are just interested in preserving knowledge, and TRYING to just be a decent human being.
@@sayno2lolzisback was she?? Omg why do people have to edit shit all weird just to create some crazy ass drama? 🙄 I mean I get it, it makes for good brain smoothening, but geez.
@@twoboysmom7423 Some people have this idea that RuPaul is some drag pioneer and that everything you need to know when it comes to drag is drag race when there's so much outside the drag race franchise that is not represented by the show and never will be
@@wonderland4515 at the same time, you can't deny the impact the show has had bringing drag to the mainstream. I mean, seriously. You don't have to worship RuPaul as any kind of idol, nor let him of the hook for the problematic things he's said and done, but what he did for drag and for lgbtq representation in general is undeniably monumental
Tammie is quirky in a way that isn't "look at me I'm different". She's so authentically unapologetically her, you can tell she is genuine, and I love it.
Tammie is one of those highly intelligent people who perceives existence on a whole other level but there's only so much time in the day to voice it out loud so we get these iconic soundbites of wisdom and hilarity. Go Tammie!
Tammy is refreshing intelligent quirky and weird. I love that about her. She owns everything about herself unapologetically it's her best quality. And her drag is great! Go sis get em!
I love how Tammy can be bat shit crazy one moment, and the next talk like she's the freaking Vice President 😂 Such an enlightened and beautiful spirit.
I like Tammie Brown. Very intelligent and articulate. Honest and real. There shouldn't be any fear after leaving RPDR to speak up. Or even on the show. Call out something if it isn't right. Also I'm going bananas over your shirt Joseph.
Without Tammy B there’d be no Jinkx, Sharon Needles. Ginny Lemon, Willow Pill. She’s an icon and she’s always been the moment, because she understands times is an illusion ✨✨✨
@@efolinskysharon needles may have done problematic things in her private life or even publicly, but there is no denying that she did well on her season and that she is smart and talented. There is no need to erase her talent and her contribution to drag just because of what she did in her life. The artist and the person are 2 different things, I don’t think cancel culture is going to do any favour to anybody
Tammie was an instant favorite. Her performance a month ago in Minneapolis was a blast. Such a kind person, and her talents were so fun to watch. I think I could just talk to her for hours.
@@amandabourke796 - she sings along to prerecorded songs. She banters a bit. I wish more!! She tells stories about where she bought her outfit, and other random stuff. There was a meet and greet before the show. I was soooo impressed with the time she took to chat and take photos and sign autographs. A solid 75 minutes and she never lagged. Just so kind and personable. There were a few technical glitches, but no big deal. She just goes with the flow. It was in a very intimate setting, and her eye contact is intense!! I got shy!
@@pmfmpls Thank you so much for your description! It sounds like an absolute blast! I had the opportunity to meet her at the 2016 LA Drag Con and she was sooo kind and sincere! It's lovely to hear that she is still this way, even though she's much more popular/famous now!
Tammie is a good person ❤️💖❤️💖 "Oh that Queer she's coming for our kids" lol I love her realness though. She does walk children and the elderly in nature. Tammie spoke out against the black exploitation and the fracking ranch RuPaul and his Husband own. Pearl, The Vixen, Tammie Brown she was the first to speak. If it takes a village for Hilary Clinton to win a Grammy ..omg 😱😱 I'm dead!!! The Haitian scandal. Damn Tam does not hold back. I love 😘😘 ❤️ this. Never stop being YOU 🎉💫💯 underrated treasure
Her experience with Ru reminds me of Pearls. Honestly, Ru loves to portray herself as some enlightened, religious figure but it's an act for the cameras, because nothing you say matters unless those cameras are rolling
Love Miss Tammie and her authenticity but also her approach to her career in show business. Only thing is the beginning and ending titles' sound peaks too high compared to the rest of the content. You have to turn it down and then it up, and then down again. It can cause ear damage if you listen on ear buds/headphones. Just a heads up!
Good on ya Tammie. You have a lot of "old school drag" in you and I dig it. Sydney queens in the 80s weren't boxed in. They were definitely individuals, ridiculous, outrageous and always hilarious. The Sydney Queens I liked were cheap yet creative, appeared never to take themselves seriously and were naturally off beat in the best way. I remember Cindi Pastel always parking her butt in the fridge to cool off (after doing a number) behind the bar at The Austral Hotel on Oxford St. (Now a shoe store).?
They definitely very much gave The Vixen the "angry black woman" edit. And it was mostly Eureka actually behaving really badly and The Vixen just reacting to it.
Yeah, it was so obvious the moment they introduced the queens I KNEW she was going to get that edit. And the vixen was aware of it, she brought it up the first episode when Aquaria started to cry. But picking Eureka to be the poor white lady....well that was a choice
Her attitude on the show was amazing, and her attitude now is amazing. She's so unafraid to call out bullshit that's coming from the judges/production, and it's so refreshing to see that from someone in the drag race cinematic universe
The thing is....RuPaul done forgot where she came from. She became rich and famous and turned into a don't look me directly in the eyes...do not ever speak to me unless I speak to you first
Tammy, don’t lie girl! You said you liked hanging around with older ladies. But I don’t see you taking care of Rupaul and walking children in nature 🤷🏻♂️ 😂😂 Just kidding, luv u TB 😘
Thanks for this interview... Tammie Brown is smart, funny & a creative flame of energy and light. 🔥🔥🔥 She never gets the credit she deserves, because she is a kooky being who exists outside of boxes & conventions. Yes, she is who she is. Period. And she tells the truth.... a reality shows nightmare if they can't control her or her narrative... Here's what I think: Time is our best teacher... and Tammie not only is still here, but she has gotten better and better...💄👠❤️🌺💕💋💯🌈😍💄👠🏳️🌈🍸🎭💕💋🌺💯 And yes, the franchise is international now...BUT in an imperialistic way... 😳not only reducing drag to looks, makeup & clothes... 😳but going to other countries and expecting those queens to be this version of Ru's American drag queens living in U.K., Australia, Holland, Italy...😳on a badly produced American tv reality show where you act the fool and fight....😳never mind you're not taking care of them or their mental states, but you are de-empowering many--the exact opposite of what the show preaches...😳😳😳 I liked Spain, but Spain did Spain... meaning they were their culture, their context, had mostly younger judges that bring a certain skill set to their opinions, cast folks that live the life & they mostly were fresh, creative, socio-political activists that wanted to show you their skill-set, compete & have fun...in a culture of drag not a poorly edited blood bath... sure it wasn't perfect... the female judge got triggered and said some stuff or wanted her to grow & behaved questionably to one of the contestants, listen bias & privilege exists every where-- but they showed a good portion of it... not censoring out most of it...honestly being indigenous or of color or transitioning--that's a dialog or discussion that warrants deconstruction or debate, because it is real and impacts many... what you have to do to survive, what supports are there or not, what resources---BUT not in an exploitive way please....👏👏👏👏👏 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Tammie Brown is an original and unique. And a good human that is funny and creative....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Well done. Good interview. You asked. Got out the way. Listened. And stayed on task....we got Tammie! Lol. And I luved it!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I've never seen a RPDR drag queen that is so universally loved in the fandom. Though I think part of it is because people just don't take her seriously☹️ at least we love her and that's all that matters❤️
As for his question "do you think rupaul was inspired by you?" Absolutely not. Just appropriated and monetized someone else's ideas. Par for the course.
Tammyie, I loved it when you were in the back of the cab and talked about wanting to fall into the pot hole. Girl, that was a scream! And the Cinco de Mayo shoot out “girl, over there“ another one.
Ru isn't perfect, but on the subject of volunteering; RuPaul's Drag Race is literally an institution that paves the way for hundreds of her junior peers. That is volunteering, but she is also an entrepreneur, because taxes and general upkeep of life. She is literally walking children in nature, but perhaps not as hands on, it's on you all as well, as I love Tammy so much, but I don't need to completely paint RuPaul in a dark way in order to truly adore a person like Tammy or Pearl. But Discourse is important.
Ummmm just my 3¢...... BUT .. it's a bit sneaky to use a different photo of Tammy in the thumbnail.... Because I'm sure like many I assumed it was something new or different then what I had already seen in the original interview with Tammy?!?! Really feel that was the intention for doing it as well !! Click bait us the worst !
Oh. My. GOD! I’m literally, GAGGED! Tammie Brown is fking AMAZING! I feel so happy that she brought up how in indigenous culture, “queer” people, or someone who just had so much love to give to everyone, not just one gender, everyone in the tribe kind of saw us as someone who was much more spiritual than everyone else. Because we didn’t see things in black and white, you know? Not sure exactly if I’m a hundred percent right, but we were the people that everyone came to for guidance, or advice. It’s really hard to explain because she’s right, we have been white washed. I mean damn, I’m half white and don’t even look native until I’ve been in the sun for about a week! Lmao, and that’s probably another reason why the other lil’ native boys were relentless towards me growing up here on the rez. That and because they were all too scared to admit they wanted a piece of cake. ;) hahah! Srsly tho. Lol. Anyways, it’s just sad. That society has really tried to white-wash, straight-wash, whatever-wash, us into however the rich and powerful see fit. And now the straight conservatives are trying to ban drag because, why? ‘Cause they’re scared of how a man in drag makes them feel in their pants and it’s just gonna start turning everyone gay? Christ what is this world coming to? Sorry, rant over. I just freakin’ HAD to immediately comment to say thank you Tammie. You’re iconic, and I freakin’ love you so much, maybe even more so now! :)
The tragedy of knowing Ongina was called over and over to join and they never pulled her! Breaks my heart they would do that to any Queen. Then they went shopping for costumes for a show they couldn't appear! Leave to Tammy to give it to us no nonsense thumbs up. Yes Tammy your fire burns bright real hot and real fast. I wonder what could have been on the snatch game? When is the Library open for you?
