I love this song. When I first heard it I was like 8 and I didn't speak any English whatsoever. 10 years later this song popped in my head again and I spent what felt like eternity trying to find it. It wasn't easy. I could already speak some English at the time so I tried to recall the general flow of the song and extrapolate the lyrics from that. I was thinking really hard and somehow I was able to figure out words like "ordered", "coffee" and "sleep" just from a vague memory. It actually worked lol. Here I am another 12 years later, still enjoying this awesome song
@Skitalets okay deputy dipshit, suppose there is the slightest chance that you may be correct in an internet argument here is your gold star!! this will be sure to impress everyone interested in one-off oldies songs recorded 'SPECIFICALLY' for video games i guess. i also guess you've never heard of alias names which are too featured in the GTA series, lol? what a condescending dick
We met in a diner 'bout quarter to 2 He left his gang back in 5th Avenue And when the waitress asked "What will it be?" I said that guy that keeps lookin' at me, lookin' at me, lookin' at me, lookin' at me I ordered a coffee and something to eat I wasn't hungry but I couldn't sleep I found this place feeling sad as can be But now I'm good 'cause he's lookin' at me, lookin' at me, lookin' at me, lookin' at me [repeat] I hope this night leads to somethin' more It's in the stars lookin' down on me, lookin' down on me, lookin' down on me, lookin' down on me

She's also the "Jay" of Conor and Jay, a duo responsible for a lot of the original radio music in early GTA games. There's another video of the song here on YT uploaded by her.
@@DomPeriod Yup! Also known as Jay Wemyss. Cool singer; she also replied to my comment on her Instagram post. Btw do you have a link to her YT account? Would love to check it out. Thanks in advance!
Julie has recorded the vocals for the songs “Vegas Road” from this game, “Change” in GTA 3 and “Train” in LCS all of which from “Conor and Jay” which the last two you can hear on Head Radio, and the first one you can hear on Rockstar Radio. She also provided the vocals for the song “Love Is The Feeling” by “Sawaar”, which you can hear on Lips 106.
She's actually Scottish, Julie Wemyss is from Scotland, like most of the non-licence songs and skits across all the radio stations, they were recorded in Scotland, the GTA games are made in Edinburgh these days in Scotland, but GTA2 was mostly made in Dundee (like the Rocksta choir Jesus my saviour song) which is a Scottish city not far from the Scottish seaside town of Arbroath - the birth place of the Scottish nation itself, though this song was itself recorded even further north in the Scottish North-East city of Aberdeen.

@@Allapa-im9jrthis means the entire Grand Theft Auto series is a Scottish games. Now I know why rockstar is better than EA. Scottish people know how to make video games instead of focusing on micro transactions
Wow what a blast from past of my childhood that you gave my tonight! Haven’t heard this since I was probably about 10 years old in 2003, which was almost 17 years ago. I wish they’d add this stuff into the new GTAs, but this certainly made me smile. Thank you for putting this up for us to come back to!
Joe Kingly Thank you 😊 I never actually played GTA2 but I heard this song on RU-vid a couple of years ago and wandered if there was a longer version, but unfortunately I couldn’t find one so thought I’d create an edited version myself 😊
Only if they added songs from GTA LCS, same rockstar game style, and copyright free so they could've done that as well as most of the songs from gta 1 gta 2.
I mean searching though other people's comments can be pretty tiresome. Idk either. I think she's mentioning cocaine while listening to pro-pain, no idea what could it be.
