Absolute perfection together. They harmonized perfectly, look great together. I never realized how appealing George Jones was all these years. Such a shame they didn't stay together. Alcohol was his demon at the time. We'll always have their incredible music.
this is great clip captures them both just doin wat they could do better than almost anyone in the world , singing REAL COUNTRY, and everytime they sang together it was always diff but always GREAT , most prob the greatest duo COUNTRY will ever hear, tnk GOD for puttin them together, n tnx tammywynettemusic for this amazing clip, i LOVE it
He cracks her up and makes her smile a lot, too. One thing I noticed here, that I've seen in other videos of the two: George is a constant pro with his facial expressions, while Tammy, if she's upset, glares at him --- or overtly wipes spit off her face! Which isn't cool or professional (if you're singing within 6 inches of each other, sometimes the other's spit is going to hit your face --- the audience doesn't need to know that).
@@8angst8 I've always thought the spitting was part of their act. Spitting thinking it would be funny (which I never thought it was). They did it in one song and you could tell Tammy was going to raise her arm to wipe the spit before she was supposed to. She started to move her arm up too early. Thats when I started thinking ir was done intentionally for a laugh.
Just one problem with this: the clip was probably from 1971-72 and not 1973 as they had sold the land in Lakeland and moved back to Nashville in late 1972
Normally, I would have definitely UP-voted this... But there's an obnoxious thing that Tammy does in quite a few videos where she's singing close with George: She makes a big thing out of wiping the spit off her face! Yes, if you're singing 6 inches away from each other, you're going to accidentally spit on each other! It happens, and pros ignore it. But Tammy always makes a big public deal out of wiping her face. An attempt to belittle George, and it ruined this video for me.
George was crazy about Tammy. You sure never saw him look at anyone like he looked at her. They were always showing physical affection, not some forced out obligation shows of affection, the real deal. When you’ve known true love you clearly recognize it between them.
