The Tampa Bay Rays made a major announcement Tuesday morning about the future of Tropicana Field and the Historic Gas Plant District.
The City of St. Petersburg held a joint news conference with Pinellas County and the Rays to announce the deal, concluding the years-long search for the Major League Baseball team’s new home.

Ugh great now st Pete residents will be forced to fork over more tax dollars for this unnecessary, lavish stadium, just like the unnecessary, marble & gold police dept that wasn’t needed. They just love spending OUR money. Maybe they’ll build a 300-foot tall rainbow monument on top of the stadium!
