After an amazing breakfast at Saivo, it was time to head up to the Laawu Rooftop Terrace, where there are Public & Private Sauna's for hotel guests.
From the terrace you have a Birds Eye view of the Nokia Arena in its entirety, as you are on the roof of the stadium/arena.
It was -6c when I first got outside on the terrace, within 15-20 minutes that dropped to -9c (this was the start of several days of temperatures between -20c & -30c).
From the terrace it was a short walk along the main train line to the Train Station, once you pass through the underground walkway, you are at the start of the Main Street in Tampere, Hämeenkatu.
Midway down the street you walk over the bridge spanning the Tammerkoski river/rapids (The city of Tampere is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärv).
Once at the end of the Main Street you have Alexander Church, then it was time to turn around, and walk back on the other side of the street, stopping at the Market Hall (Kauppahalli) for a walk around, and some fresh piping hot Salmon Soup.
Some more walking and then it was Coffee O'Clock, so a pitstop into the Fazer Cafe for a Christmas themed Latte, and a Cinnamon Bun (Korvapuusti).
The sun started to set at 3pm as I was walking back towards the train station, then hotel.
