Hello, is the lens stabilized? The acronym is Di III VC VXD G2, with G2 at the end produced in 2023? Thank you!

It is not stabilized.

The G2 version, that will be released later this year, will have Tamrons vibration control (image stabilization).

What do you think of the version 2 that's coming out? Worth upgrading the old one?

I doubt I’ll be upgrading honestly. I’ve not had any real issues with the version I have now so probably keep it for a while

@mikewhitehurst6508 f2.8 is about as fast as you can find for a longer zoom lens. I’ve used it for night time soccer before and it seems to be good.
