i lost fifty pounds following this advice, because I had a gluten allergy. No exercise required. Before I was eating whole grain foods with low fat condiments like mustard, an occasional salad with sugar laden dressing, and dinner was good carbs and protein, no junk food. I could not lose any weight, as soon as I got rid of wheat and replaced with fifty percent veggies, 25%carbs and 25% protein, the weight came off. I'm completely off sugar now, except dark chocolate and fruit my high bp is gone, as well as my pre-diabetes. Is this a less caloric way of eating? Sure, but the most important thing is that when my buddies at work are stuffing themselves with cookies and doughnuts, I can walk by and not even crave it. Now that's freedom. Thanks dr. Hyman.

It’s so funny because she acts so much like someone with ADHD. I don’t know if she has it or not though. I just found this channel. She chimes in quite often/at weird times and with funny comments like “don’t have garlic if you’re going on a date”. It’s not a bad thing and to be fair he doesn’t really give her enough of a chance to talk and she’s thankfully good at taking the floor/asserting herself. I’m only saying she seems like a typical ADHDer in the WAY she does it. My daughter with formally diagnosed ADHD acts exactly like this too. More intense than the average person, spontaneous and quick witted. It’s cute, not a negative! It makes the video more dynamic and fun to watch. I couldn’t help leaving a comment because the recognition is uncanny.

Retinol, retinol, retinol, retinol. Retinol is required by ATP7B to load copper into ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin, when activated by its 6-8 coppers, expresses as ferro-oxidase (ferroxidase). Ceruloplasmin safely taxis copper around the body and ferro-oxidase safely taxis iron around the body. Without these enzymes, copper and iron go rogue in the body and generate inflammation inducing oxidative stress. Whole cream, the highest quality liver (lamb is more palatable), Rosita's cod liver oil, and pasteured eggs are higher in retinol. Keep up the very good work!

I'm not sure how I feel about the fats not making you fat (0:51), but it's the fat with sugar that makes you fat. I'm a vegan and eat mostly raw. If you know anything about the raw food movement, LOTS of things, especially desserts, use lots of nuts. My experience has been that if I eat too much nuts, I quickly start gaining weight. Nuts have a lot of fat. Of course, there may be something else going on with the nuts themselves, that make me gain weight. I don't know. At any rate, I cut down on the amount of nuts I eat, and my weight stays good.

Cabbage, kale, and broccoli contain goitrogens that can slow your thyroid. Too much of anything is no good. Actually, too much broccoli could make you fat if it slows down your thyroid enough. People who already have a thyroid problem are sensitive to that, and hypothyroidism(low thyroid) is notorious for going undiagnosed.
@glorioskiola

@Arrasel

If you cook cruciferous foods, it's fine. They are easier to digest. Raw veggies make me bloated too. In hypothyroidism you have many nutritional deficiences. Take selenium, it's a key nutrient to support your thyroid. Also B1 if you have chronic fatigue. You may have leaky gut, adrenal fatigue, insuline resistance, fatty liver. Veganism is not the best so take B12 (methyl), zinc, vitamin D3 to help you convert your T4 hormone into T3.

@@NatAnnSch Our seafood supply is riddled with many possible contaminants including heavy metals, plastics, PCBs, and if farm-raised we have different or additional concerns like what foods they were raised on, and how healthy the fish are, as you raise. Some fish farming practices are considered more sustainable environmentally than others and you can search by the specific form of tilapia and, if relevant, the type of farming from which the fish came, on the seafoodwatch.org website here: www.seafoodwatch.org/seafood-recommendations/groups/tilapia/overview?q=tilapia&t=tilapia The hope is that better farming practices lead to healthier fish, even if farm-raised.
