Hello Mal, an interesting museum, for railway technology left to itself. Even in this sad condition, the vehicles still have a certain charm. Thank you very much my friend for the very excellent video. I wish you a nice week and stay healthy. Best regards Wolfgang

the australian engine has always been narrow gauge but the it was being worked on a few years ago but sadly the guy who was working on it sadly passed away and now it's sort of in limbo so it one day could be worked on or it could just be sent back to Australia

Shocking but hopefully all are just waiting a turn or restoration for display. Lots of rarities. Might be in a state but well worth keeping for the future. You never know. I spotted the Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn crane tank locomotive. Think there are 4 preserved not sure if any runs but they have a Dubs Co one at the Foxfield which was or is in service.

A video does not really do this place justice, you need to walk around in the silence and soak up the history of what's in front of you, its a bit out of the way but well worth the effort.

Needs an expert eye to see if anything worth saving , then a cutters torch for salvageable scrap revenue. Thanks for highlighting but should also show the best of volunteers work at the site. R.T.

If you look at part one of our Tanfield visit you will see i do show the railway in full and have nothing but praise for all the brilliant staff there.

It's a shame for all of that stuff to sit there and rust away. I do like RS&H 7800 , I think it's the only one left of its type!!

Thank's jimmy, i think its great the Tanfield railway will let people just wonder around the graveyard, one or two might be saved but not many in that condition will but that's whats so great here the atmospher and silence as you walk around the place,...Mal

What a waste of heritage,it's a shame that it can't be placed under cover and may be some of it could be saved.

Hi, yes i totally agree with you, its such a shame this little railway just does not have the money put them under shelter, maybe would be better to just give them to a railway to restore that has the money to do it, having said that it is a amazing place to spend a few hours soaking up the history thank's to Tanfield Railway.

If you want to give them some money to build a shed to put more under cover I'm sure they would be grateful. I have been visiting the Tanfield since 1984 and it is amazing what they have achieved.

They are using these for spares as if you climb into the cabs of the locos all the controls are missing
