❤❤The Sessions are always great. Big TD fan for more than 40 years now. Saw TD already three times now. Last year in Leuven, The Depot. Greetings Dirk Belgium
Many thanks for posting - that was quite a performance! These sessions really hark back to early TD concerts with plenty of improvisation. I like the guest-musician direction they are taking, but would prefer to see the sessions at the start of the show, so we finish on a real classic TD high at the end of the evening!
Thank you for shareing this session. I want to go hear live music, but it's far from Japan. Your sound is very interesting and excited. And I'm a Nick Beggs fan🎧🎶
Thanks for posting this! Not being familiar with the band other than a few soundtracks, I had no expectations and liked it more than I thought I would. Was surprised to hear Tom Waits singing Waltzing Matilda in the mix, and thought of this as back in the day when at a John Fahey concert he'd talk about the point in the evening where he'd be going "into the void". I'm a fan of Nick Beggs and didn't feel like he was turning it into the Nick Beggs show (he's a pro and knows how to play well with others). Am curious to explore what this band has to offer (and from reading about the back catalogue, this could take a while). ❤☮🌎
Sorry to be negative, but this 'encore' at the concert held 8 November at the Palladium was way too long at 50 minutes. Nick Beggs has undoubted skills as a virtuoso bassist but his impact and contribution to the Session could have been displayed in a piece lasting 25 to 30 minutes. The audience was deprived of an extra 20 to 25 minutes of Tangerine Dream 'proper'; after all, that is why we were there!
