The automobile emission standard required by China is CN6B, roughly equivalent to the EURO7 standard. To meet this standard, some gasoline engines have to install a DPF like a diesel engine. In Australia, a lot of unnecessary equipment can actually be removed and meet the EURO5 standard.
@@timofey24 you'd get a fine if you got caught some how. Police wouldn't have a clue. They'd have to have reasonable suspicion to send you to have it checked. Doesn't change the law though.

The tank 300s use a ZF8HP auto trans which is the same gearbox used on performance cars like the BMW M3. Alfa Giulia QV. Dodge hellcat and more. Those cars probably make 3x the power so yeah I think it's safe to say the gearbox is barely breaking a sweat at the power levels of a tuned 2.0T 😂😂
The JEEP Ecodiesel has the same box and makes factory 18oKw and 575Nm. They are regularly tuned to 800Nm so if box internals are the same should be all good@@rigstig
Wow, those Nm gains are very good, specially with only a 3pound increase. Maybe once it’s all done you should have it tuned out to the limits of the injectors and see what it does then… Great vids 💪🏼
Loving your videos. I was set on a Jimny but now thinking about the Tank as my first car and these kinda vids are keeping my excitement up. How expensive / how long would it take to get a mechanic to install an exchaust like that ? And whats the approx cost of the exhaust itself ?
You beat me with your explanation as it’s exactly what I was thinking whilst watching this regarding Chinas new emissions regulations. Also, having read the comments of others all I will say about exhaust mods is when was the last time you ever witnessed a Harley Davidson being pulled over by the police or any government agency for being too load? As the exhaust mod is the first thing done to these bikes as stock, you can’t really hear them. Plus, the factory warranty isn’t diminished.
Great vids thanks mate, no mucking around, to the point, good and bad. That factory exhaust looked stainless, was it? Did see one vid of the Tank with a broken steering part, possibly arm or joint causing front wheels to steer opposite to each other. Don’t know the circumstances though. Anyway pretty impressive so far👍🏼

Absolutely love your videos. Mods and tuning is illegal here in China. People do it nevertheless. One thing they found is that you may need to upgrade the radiator after tuning. The stock one isn’t all that accommodating.

Hello from across the ditch! Looking at a Tank 300 Ultra Hybrid right now, do you think similar modifications and ECU tuning would be possible on the Hybrid model? I noted the big space for the battery pack and hybrid drivetrain so assume that would interfere with any existing straight pipe kits for the petrol version. But if you leave the hybrid bits alone and just fiddled with the ICE components, similar power increases would theoretically be possible right??

Hi A shop working on my TANK disconnected the battery and when they reconnected it, the car doesn’t recognize the key - any ideas on how to reset that? Kind of an emergency….. @@DASHOffRoad

@@DASHOffRoad What are the torque specifications for the transmission and diffs? I have a VE SS ute, the transmission is rated at 570nm, 40nm more than the motor can generate. Putting an extra 140nm through it would reduce it's life considerably.
