Tanks a smart dude, he saw straight away what they were going for on this segment and he played it up for them, while being himself. More class than he gets credit for.
@@StandWatie1862I don’t think it was Danny that converted her. I think it was his brother Chris. She was married to him. The oldest brother from Malcom in the Middle.
@@rickrick5041 You're right man, and he has even penned a book or so. Judging by how he lives and enjoys his retirement, he was also very smart with his money. What an articulate and terrifying dude.
If you're operating at today's typical intelligence, then no wonder you think a guy who gets punched in the head for a living and hangs out with Hollywood PDF files, is smart.
Leland Matt he was very important to the growth of this sport. Go back to UFC 40 which is the event which saved the UFC (not TUF because no UFC 40 there is no TUF) and witness the pop when Tank comes back. Now he was used. Smartly so. Brought Tank back to bring old fans back so Mir and the new school could get over much like Gracie vs Hughes at UFC 60 was exactly the same. UFC 1 and 2 drew curiosity but quickly it lost its juice because of Royce’s dominance so enter Tank and his win over Matua and his promos and you had some magic. Was he some great all around fighter? No way but he had hands, power, charisma for days and absolutely is an important figure. A prime Tim Sylvia could cause problems for many top 15 heavyweights currently while Tank probably wouldn’t necessarily be more than Derrick Lewis if even but the intangibles mean more. Tank mattered and just because he isn’t and never could have been on the level of a Stipe Miocic doesn’t diminish what he meant to the sport and how he helped elevate it to where it is today. Sure he’s a dinosaur but he mattered.
Back in the early 80s, I worked for a hay contractor. He would go to bars on Friday and Saturday nights to fight somebody. He lived for it, I was around 19 and had never seen anything like it.
Hold up did anyone else catch that Tank said early in the interview “I would take his watch” I regards to potentially fighting Andy Dick? The odds that Andy lost his watch and it broke off of his wrist. Weird prediction Forsure and how odd that happened?
thats it!!!! i hear Tank Abbott i think blood !!!! if i ran into the man in a bar i would leave at that moment. my mouth is like my ex wife write checks my ass cant cover
I can agree that "fighting in the street" does help you learn to fight, along with professional training of course; Bar fighting, and other guard stuff definitely helps with honing physical experience of defense; from my own individual experience. Good stuff! haha
Every good street fighter I habe know and i mean good street fighter not just 3 hot brawler has boxed or kickboxed. Streetfighting gives you street fighting experience but nothing compares to actual training
Yes boxing is one dimensional, but Tank Abbott's fighting was too. If he decided to exchange blows with Tyson, like he did with many other fighters, it'd be lights out.
You could see how passive aggressively jealous those two guys were around Tank Abbott they (Desperately wanted to hide behind a gun or call the cops) ... In life Most people can never rise above these kind of passive aggressive douchebags, but Tank Abbott found a way to rise above them and made a life for himself. I think he HATES these kind of passive aggressive douchebags and there are a lot of them, as much as I do. Tank Abbott your a dying breed but I am glad you took your stand ! : )
@@ispartacus1337 he wrestled in college, in the octogon he almost threw Paul Varleans out of the cage, and on the street he was known to pick guys up and throw them on their heads. he could do that to mike if he got past his fists and grabbed him up
Tank was an all american wrestler in college.....plus earned a degree, which means he would never be dumb enough to stand and trade with Tyson. There were a few occasions in the UFC where Tank wanted to take a fight to the ground, and he had no problems doing so. Prime Tank vs prime Tyson in a street fight..........Tyson goes to throw a bomb but ends up on his back with Tank throwing haymakers. Tank wins easy.
Remember going to blockbuster and buying all the first UFC tapes on vhs. Had to move 3yrs ago and left them behind. I buried them in the front yard of the 30 acre farm i lived on for 50yrs.
@@oldironsides4107 You seriously suggesting that Andy Dick would win a fight against a professional MMA fighter? My friend, get back on your fucking medication.
What year was this in ? From my recollection, Tank was the first mma fighter to really get pushed to the mainstream. He was pretty good at tv interviews etc, very charismatic...shame he never took training all that seriously, he could of been a legit talent. Andy is surely drunk, such a rude attention seeking little turd. Tank showed pretty good restrain.
BMWm6e63 yea seriously Tank thought he was hot shit. Look at what he looks like now. Tyson would really fuck him up now. I’m a light heavyweight boxer and I still think that Tyson would beat me and I’m 28. Only way I could win is if I could Floyd my way through a few rounds till he got tired. Tyson been doing this since before I was born and he still hits the bags. People don’t understand that boxers will win 100 percent of the time in a standup. A retired Floyd that hardly trained proved that with the McGregor fight. I made a lot of money of that fight because mma fans are so gullible hahaa
WaVy Crockett #JizzBoss bro I’m not arguing the mma vs boxer thing. I’ll tell you my experience I’ve done more then well against mma fighters but mainly I think most of the guys that I did full force sparring with didn’t know I have background in wrestling and mauy Thai. Even Bruce Lee said this some of the worlds top Martial Arts experts black belts could be beaten by a guy that’s been training in boxing and wrestling for a year. You can’t argue this though the greats in ufc are always good strikers and have a background in boxing. Khabib he’s known grappling and wrestling but people don’t realize he can box too. He just goes for what he’s knows is going to work. I personally I loved watching mcgregor get dominated after all that shit he talked. Funny watching this video I ran into Andy Dick in Hollywood about five years ago at my friend Kelly’s apartment and he was more then fucked up he fucking glitter on his face i opened the door for him because he was too fucked up to put in the passcode.
Tank is right!!!! Tyson is a boxer. On the ground he's helpless. But as much as I love tank he would not even get Tyson to the ground. Tyson would for sure knock tank out!!!
He'd better take him down really really quickly. Because he wouldn't last 30 seconds with Mike standing. There's a chance he could eat an uppercut during the shoot for the legs.
@@smoothhoopinal Nothing is impossible, but i've yet to see that done. So you must not be very good. Mike has no experience with this, so he would be the last guy to pull it off. Mike has already said these guys would beat him, cause he doesn't have their skillset. And it wouldn't be that easy to knock Tank out. If it was just fists, yes, Tank would be out. But it's not and Tank can throw some heavy punches that Mike couldn't just take. He would have to act defensively before getting good punches in on Tank and that time would be all Tank needed to close the distance and take him down to his demise. If it weren't true, there'd be allot of boxers crossing to mma without mma training and knocking everyone out,. Tyson is not a super hero. You Tyson worshippers are as bad as the Bruce Lee worshippers. They didn't, cause they can't. Get over it.
Forget everything you think you know about Andy Dick --- he was effing brilliant in News Radio. Some of the most hilarious comedy in history are his bits with Joe Rogan. Seriously. Still funny.
@@vernievuitton Newsradio is on Pluto, Plex, and Crackle..... dont think tank expected that little twerp to just jump on him like that, the little opportunist twit, tank shudda one twoed him after flicking him off.
@@leonidasrozas2347 oh Don Frye isn't just any 200lb firefighter tho xD You def have to mention his name, arguably the biggest name in the early days of UFC
Andy knew JiuJitsu and knew that was tanks weakness... Thats why he egged him on... He wanted to choke tank out... Almost did it too.... Then Tank stopped playing and flung Andy in the air like a tissue
Prime Mike Tyson Would Destroy Tank Abbott In 10 Seconds. The Old UFC Big Cage, No Rules At All Anything Goes, Tyson With No Gloves, Walks In With Kevin Rooney, Tank Can Shoot All He Wants Its Over. Can You Imagine A Prime Tyson At His Peak, Fully Trained, Fully Focused And Bein Able To Do What He Wants..
In all fairness, Andy's BJJ looked solid. His jump to back control was pretty decent. If Andy hooked his leg in a tad better then quickly sunk in a rare naked choke. using his skinny blade forearms to his advantage actually, he could have tapped Tank.
