How To Replace a tankless water heater.
1. Turn off the water and gas supply to the old water heater. Drain any remaining water.
2. Disconnect the gas line, water lines, and mounting screws to remove the old water heater.
3. Install the new water heater, including adding service valves and a temperature/pressure relief valve. Ensure the new water heater is properly mounted and level.
4. Connect the new water and gas lines, including adding a new gas shut-off valve closer to the appliance. Use Teflon tape and pipe dope to seal the connections.
5. Turn the gas and water back on, check for any leaks, and bleed air from the gas line.
6. Plug in the new water heater and set the temperature.
