If your thinking of coming to Prime Inc or want to get your CDL license. I honestly believe Prime is a solid company to start your trucking journey. Make sure when you fill out the online application @ www.primeinc.com put my driver code STREXA on page 2 of the application when it ask who referred you. Thanks for watching my video 😊🤞🙏👀🌨️
Great job with training. I pulled tankers with Willard Grain back in mid 1990’s. My training consisted of pulling a loaded pneumatic tanker from home office in Celina Texas to our grain mill in Eddy Texas to pick up a loaded liquid tanker. I followed and experienced driver to south Texas with this training-“Don’t hit anything and don’t turn it over”. End of training. So good on you for giving these guys the tools they need to be successful!
Just so you guys know, NEVER EVER add oil unless your reading below the fill line on your dipstick, adding to much oil can actually starve your engine of lubricant, overfilling will cause what's referred to as a hydro lock via bubbles from cavitation that prevent oil from getting where it actually needs to even tho there's more in tbere. Do not add half a gallon of oil unless your below the fill line on your dipstick.
Love Tennessee! We vacationed in Nashville, drove to Memphis to see Graceland, and drove back. Beautiful all along the way. I'm an RV'er and love you truckers, and I really like your channel because you use your phone for route planning and communicating. That's the direction everyone is going and it's great to see how technology is helping everyone while seeing this great Country of ours. I use Trucker Path for fuel stops and Apple Maps for directions (and a Garmin inReach so family can track our travels). I have a new 2023 Ford F-150 for towing our camper, I already installed my Ham radio in it, and a CB will be next so I can talk with you all again on the road. Peace and safe travels! Good afternoon Rex! Great to see you back at it trucking making them videos. I hope you enjoyed your time off. Them storms were crazy and you still made it in the time frame you said you would. Great video keep trucking! Thanks Rex
Hi from Greece, fellow trucker here, just a thumbs up for your videos, more or less we have the same situation here in Greece, different trucks , not an app or something to log, just with a phonecall we know where to load or unload... And as we say in Greece, may you have good roads on your journey
I was driving through that also. All the way from Wellston Ohio over to Elizabethtown Pennsylvania then to Cleveland Tennessee. All at night with a loaded tank. 😮
Enjoyed the ride along across I 40 and through the rain to your destination! The other stuff was good info as usual, always enjoy your dedication and energy you put in your work! 😎 Drifter
Would you be willing to do a truck tour/tool tour? This is my first time watching you and I like your setup, I want to get into tankers and was thinking about doing it through prime, I already have my CDL and tank endorsement!
As long as its something you can do? Fix it. Lights, mud flaps, air lines, etc. Definitely keep the line's up and off the deck plates. Not just because it's D. O. T. accountable, but you can rub through and get a air leak and catch them and tear them off!😮. You're a old school soul in a young man's body!
Hey Rex, just curious when it comes time to service your truck, does prime let you when to service it? And do you have to pay for it or does prime do it for you? Thank you!! Keep on Trucking !!🔥🔥
Yes you can see it through the prime app when maintenance services is due and when. Like oil changes, chassis lube etc. As a lease driver I pay for that. I can have it done at a prime yard or at a truck stop. I pay for it with my prime fuel card then prime will deduct my paycheck for the amount. Hope this helps!
First let me say Thank all the truckers for what you'll do, and say sorry for the car drivers who cause you'll alot of crazy stuff they do . God Bless the truckers .
Hey Rex, I have enjoyed watching your videos and have actually learned a lot. I wanted to ask you for some advice. Since Prime no longer hires new graduates with no experience which company would you recommend? I live in NC, looking for no touch freight. I don’t mind being out a couple weeks at a time but that’s about my limit as I have a family. Benefits, pay and home-time are important. What do you think?
Rex, you drove past the exit where I live at 31:30, I was in school during that part, I was about 20 minutes away. It’s crazy to see the place I live in a video. Also, wish me luck, I have my true CDL test on Friday.
@@melvinalbert6172 They are having us do almost everything we learned in school. Pre-trip, in cab, brake tests, Straight line, left or right angle backing, offset, possibly parallel parking, and 90 degree. It’s gonna be random on the maneuvers for testing, but I don’t think I’m gonna be doing parallel parking for testing.
That’s awesome! I wish you nothing but the best and I’m sure your going to ace the test 💪🤞and it’s okay to be nervous, I was just take your time on your pre-trip. If you need to stop and think for a moment do that 💯
very informative channel looking to switch from reefer otr to tanker otr - can you consider showing how to get a sample of a loaded trailers product for the customer or explain it & for temperature controlled loads, is there a temperature control in cab of the truck? I don't see any temperature control operations on the nose of the trailer or cat walk area with the hoses, assuming its in the cab... thank you, stay safe out there & successful!
Almost all receivers will get sample themselves but next one that makes me do this I’ll film and explain. As far as any temperature controls their are none. When you hook up the intransit heat lines radiator fluids flows from the engine block to the tanker. Temperature would range from 180-210 degrees Fahrenheit (roughly).
Depends on how the system truly works. Is it really their for safety? Or is this to micromanage drivers? That I can’t answer. I currently don’t have one in my truck.
I know that belts, hoses, hose clamps, oil, WW fluid, coolant and brake fluid, those items don't come out of your own pocket. How does that work, does prime give you a card to purchase those items or do you have to show them receipts for reimbursement? What about other items, like the disposable gloves and the small tools in the tool bag, do you have to come out of pocket for those items or can you pick them up at the office or at their shop?
@@patrickcarcamo622 and @patrickcarcamo622 fair enough. You're damned right, everything comes out of his pockets and onto his tax forms, thank you, both.
everything i haul is inedible liquid and is used to make dry dog food (one of the ingredients) products like chicken fat, beef tallow, inedible eggs etc.
Just a bit of advise. I’m sure prime is watching u so u should quit showing us when u change duty status. Just by hooking up to the trailer, hooking air lines and a general walk around all needs to b on duty. I get it. I don’t like to start my clock too soon either but ur on the internet and this could b used against u.
Fyi I was on duty hooking up to the trailer, switched to off duty went inside to use the bathroom came out went on duty prior to vehicle inspection! Primes safety department is subbed to my channel and appreciates my content! I don’t need to EXPLAIN every detail. Enjoy your day 😃
U clearly said starting ur day from scratch so I’m just saying to watch what u say n post. I’m not trying to bad mouth u just trying to help u stay safe. If that offended u then I’m sorry. I’ll keep my thoughts to myself.
@@laura101cookieswe’re governed by rules set by the federal dept of transportation. Everything we as truckers do has to b done by their rules. We can’t perform any kind of work while we’re not in the right duty status. If I say I’m off duty, then I can’t do any kind of work related stuff. I can’t unload a trailer. I can’t hook to a trailer. Hell I can’t even clean my windows while I’m off duty. Now most of the time drivers won’t get caught but a snoopy dot officer or safety manager mite b able to find it.
@johnheck2198 well johnny boy I got some bad news for you. My grandfather was a true independent owner op for 52 yrs back in the day. I've been in or around trucking since born ...I'm 55 yrs old have owned n operated a truck or multiple trucks for 30 plus yrs myself. And we as true owner ops do things all the time that are truck. Trailer. Or work related that we don't log on duty. Especially if you do any of your own work. Maintenance. Repair etc on your day or days off. I've NEVER LOGGED that time. EVER.
What's up, Rex! I hope all is well with you and the family! Im just getting ready for tanker boot camp tomorrow, and then onto success leasing to pick out a truck. I'll be trucking soon, man! 😎🚛👍
@truckingwithrex Thanks, man! I gotta give you a lot of credit. Your videos really motivated me to do tanker with Prime, Inc. Even when the time got tough through my TNT phase. I always watched your videos, which helped me in ways I can't even explain. I do hope we run across each other's path so that I can shake your hand. Your videos are all informative, entertaining, and motivating! Keep them coming, man!!!! Take care!
