Y'all should understand that the caliber of drifting ken block does in the majority of his vids are gymkhana. Tanner foust on the other hand just go's and drifts. Both know a whole heck of alot more than some of the "amateurs" commenting that look for tire marks where they've practiced. Ken block practices because the majority of what he does consists of timing, they make alot of the courses in a few days so he has to practice, for they are long sets. Tanner can just go and drift what he wants where he wants when he wants. Both are very skilled in what they do, I've met and spoke with both, although I haven't been able to do a ride along. That would kill.
Couldn't agree more. In this case it looked like one of the slowest ways to get along that road. Lots of smoke and noise for very little speed. I'm not saying it'd be easy but it does seem pretty pointless.
Steve Gould racing shows how fast you can go, drifting shows how much control you have. Its a precision art meant to be fun, exciting, and kick ass to watch.
people don't remember corners you can master a course by running through it and knowing the corner so well but you can kind of tell what kind of corner is coming up by the dip in the road its hard to explain but its not that hard to believe that this world class drifter did it flawlessly without all the tire marks your looking for plus theres thousands of dollars invested into this car for this purpose this car was built to drift and hs a well experience driver behind the wheel so yeah don't know what yall are talking about I sense some haterism going around lol
@sawtoothscrambler It's commonly used in rally racing to turn corners while keeping up RPMs, but I guess some guy in the past thought it was so cool looking that drifting should be done on the tarmac. The point of popular drifting is mostly confined to the angle of the drift, how much distance between cars during drift, and whether the car hits pre-determined entry, corner apex, and exit points. That's how judges score in competitions anyways. It's oversteer made to be cool.

That road is sacred in the car community and I’m incredibly grateful to live 15 minutes away from it. The snake is where the car community in my area thrives. Scary as hell though.

What you have to understand is that most 8 cylinders have alot of torque around the 3000-4000 rpm powerband in which case is beneficial to getting the car to break traction and to start drifts. Why you think GT V8 mustangs and shit look so ideal when it comes to drifting?
I was there that day. I've watched a lot of people ride, drive and crash on The Snake. But this took it to a whole new level. Tanner was very nice too!
Would have been much cooler to see him staying in one lane. Anyone who rides the Snake road knows what a huge problem this is. I think that could have made the video much more sophisticated.
