Tanya Tagaq is a wonderful throat singer in Cambridge city before. And she demonstrates the land where animals live in! I love inuit throat singers. We love her very much! I love traditional inuit culture music!

This was a phenomenal, moving performance, the piece composed by Tanya Tagaq's band member, drummer/percussionist Jean Martin with orchestration by Christopher Mayo, and with Element Choir director Christine Duncan conducting the brass section in improvisation during segments. The red dresses represent the 1200 missing and murdered, indigenous women and girls of Canada, as does the composition.

Why do orchestras play this kind of garbage?? What a waste of practice and rehearsal time. Big thumbs down!

It's not because you don't like it or understand it that it's"garbage". I found it very powerful and moving.

The question is why play to convention? Be jubilant that there are extraordinarily interesting people in the world whose passion , daring, and talent allow them to create material that, though odd to you, inspires and moves others.

Ms. Tagaq's unique style of solo throat singing, expresses raw emotions and tells a story; in this case, one that's deeply personal: that of the more than 1200 missing and murdered indigenous women and girls in Canada between 1980 and 2012, from which The REDress Project was created by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2000. Note the 5 red dresses hanging behind the orchestra. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_and_murdered_Indigenous_women
