Right or wrong on what you're doing, It is fantasitc you are doing anything at all with anything that has a motor. You are a young man and I think it is great that you(and other youngsters)are working on these. There are adults that couldn't even tell you how to start one let alone try and work on them or do any mods. Don't let the "adult" critics stop you or get at you...Keep it up and keep these videos coming!
That’s crazy to see an atv like that because that’s the atv that got me into atving when I was 9 been riding ever since but not that atv any more ran it until the compression was so low that it couldn’t start 😂🤣🤣
I can't believe the pair valve would add any power by removing it. It just allows air into the exhaust to burn unburned fuel when you close the throttle.
sorry for the late reply, It's because at this time it still had the "catalytic converter" in it, and the stock muffler which is SUPER restrictive. So by removing the pair valve it allowed the exhaust to flow out much easier and quicker... this way the engine wouldn't have to force ALL of the exhaust through the restrictions.
You need to plug the crankcase breather hose that you cut. It needs to be plugged on the crankcase AND the filter. You can drop some silicone into it or a vacuum hose cap, but definitely plug it.
Plug the crank case and you'll end up pushing oil around the rings.. when the piston goes down, the air in the case needs a place to go.. best idea is put a small air filter or a pcv valve on it so it's got a one way outlet
Definitely don't plug the crankcase vent tube put a filter/pcv valve on it or lengthen the hose at least to under the seat and make an upside down u and zip tie it. Similar to what they do for a vehicle differential and transmission vent. You do need to either plug off the port on the filter or put a screen or some type of filter on it to filter out that incoming air so you don't clog your carb
@@talhaHaHaHa there’s like a restriction thing in the exhaust its like a thing on there that u can take off its grey if u take it out there will be a hole in the exhaust but it makes it so much faster it opens up the exhaust more idk if they all have it but it was like a grey restriction thing that i unbolted then it went like 20 mph faster 😂
@relese_thebeast72 no, it’s on the carb and goes to the crank case (bottom side of the motor ) it lets out pressure that builds up in the space below the piston. So it acts like an air pump and has no filter on it.
Couple things. Good job for trying to do what you can to get more power out of what you have. But…. The screen on the back of the muffler is so you don’t catch dry grass fields on fire. I’ve seen it happen first hand. That screen is called a spark arrester for a reason. Secondly. The tube coming into the back of the filter is for pulling crank case pressure out of the motor. It actually helps make power. And by taking it off and letting unfiltered air in, it will destroy your motor way faster.
Youde be surprised how tough they are, mines been like that for a long time now, it’s been just sitting for years and I’ve been driving it around and it’s been workin, a lot of times no air filter at all haha the engine is surprisingly tough, I have friends that have abused them so bad but the engine somehow survives
That thing has a catalytic converter to near the engine. That's what that little expansion thing is on the pipe. If you take that off it'll have even way more power.
i put a 3 inch exaust tip in place of my mufler and i rebuilt the carb put in a new crankcase filter air filter and turned the throttle adjustment on the cable out now i do 25-30 and thats what i have the nerve to go turbo or head and cam is next
The best boost you can do for them is run them on non ethanol gas. They dont back fire pot or sputter they dont miss fire... they fire up 100times better and for sure more responsive.... Oh yea it wont fun up the carburetor it has 3 year self life unlike normal gas that has a 2 month shelf life.
Take a Dremmel with a Ball carbide tip and . In the INTAKE dimple it everwere inside ya can like golfball...But port match it first OPEN the HOle there all Wonky blockin path...N if ya want get rid choke butterfly id did all that n the inner weld on the Exhast pipe was half Filled with Weld CHECK IT.... only thing ddint do get rid that stupid pulse thing
Good tip.i put it in my atc 110cc and ford truck.non ethanol is one of the best things you can do.people worry so much about mods , they forget about the fuel.
If it's not water cooled engine th then undoing your pcv valve will more quickly on an air cooler oil cooled engine will lose its oils viscosity much quicker you need a crankcase breather at least put a breather on the crank case and plug the hole on the intake so air dont go in without passing thru the air filter
Hey there, sorry for the late reply, in my personal opinion, I say take the stock muffler off it is SUPER restrictive. After this video we removed the stock muffler, and stock "catalytic converter" with some pipe we had lying around.
@@anythingwithanengine6091 I braced up the straight pipe and can't believe how much better it runs. I also re-geared it to a 12 in the front and a 49 in the rear.. It really gets off the line now..
Straight piping causing a burnt engine is half true. IF you don't retune the air to fuel ratio it will cook your engine alive. IF you do tune it, it will have no bad side effects and actually really bump up the power and low end torque.
When you pulled the hose from the air filter to the crank casing... did anything negative come of that? Mine broke by accident. It drives good with it off so far..
All of the old Honda atc just ran it into the atmosphere, but new regulations had it ran back into the engine.... So it's not going to hurt it, just as long as water doesn't fill up your crank case👌
Hey I have a 110cc and it is one down for forward up one is neutral and one more up is reverse. When it's in forward the clutch slips but in reverse it doesn't slip can anyone help me on how to fix or do I need to replace
The thing that plugged the exhaust is the spark arrester. Pulling it will up power but also cause a brush fire. A tenth of a horsepower (maybe) vs a couple thousand dollar fine, not worth it to me.
I'm not so sure you know that flames don't shoot out of an exhaust just sitting there idling, not only that, but the baffle is still in there the bolts do nothing but hold a chrome cover on to make it look more appealing.
an easy swap is to replace the carburator ( 20 minutes ... $10 on Amazon ) ... a PZ-19 is stock ( 19 mm opening ) ... & replace it with a PZ-22 ( 22 mm opening - allowing more air & gas to enter the engine. ) ( EXPERT MODE ... replace the Jets ( that regulate the amount of gas) in the PZ-22 to a bigger hole ... imagine a mustang carburator in a honda civic
change to a DC powered CDI - the AC powered CDI are dependant on how fast the ' generotor' is spinning for the spark ... dc CDI pulls from the battery; which is charged from the 'generator'/
Dirty carb or bad air/fuel mixture, poor fuel quality(supposed to run 91 octane in these) or bad plug. KISS...keep it simple stupid..always start with the cheapest/most logical things first.
So the larger section of pipe right at the air pump is actually like a catalytic converter, I just cut one open because im putting a predator engine on a tao tao 125. Check it out on tiktok, username @beetle_baily
If u close the small hole on the exhaust pip where u removed that hose lining thing idk the name of it well like I was saying if u close it off it will make it a lil bit more louder
@@justinc9911 Hi, sorry for the late reply, most chinese atv carburetors are usually the same thing, I would recommend looking down the throat of the carb, and if the diameter of the 50cc carb throat is smaller than the 125cc, I would not recommend it.
Nothing... Drilling holes into any exhaust causes a loss of back pressure.. resulting in less power output.. As for the EGR valve, They operate on a diaphram inside that opens at higher revs to recirculate exhaust gases... But only on high revs, So through out the rest of the rev range, it wont do naff all, Therefor, no performance gains... Even at high revs when the EGR valve opens, The performance gain is so minimal, its not even noticeable to a human being... -- For real gains, You'd want to skim the head around 0.10mm for higher compression, and a large lobe camshaft.... Those are REAL gains...
@@screemingturbo8806 no, look up small engines needing back pressure. Say for instance you use a bigger exhaust on a Honda 4 stroke, you decrease power.
It's all fine tho, we drill the Jets after this video so more fuel, more air and less restriction in the exhaust. We also changed the muffler to a completely different one.
