I wasn't overly keen on the TV series - but since watching them all again on Netflix, I can't seem to stop laughing! So genius. Bring him back, BBC!

It's a little known fact that Count Arthur auditioned for the dancing part in the remake of "Flying Down to Rio" made famous by Fred Astair. Unfortunately he could not find his tap shoes so he had to make do with hob nailed boots which he'd kept from his days down the pit. If not for this handicap who knows Count Arthur could have been another Wayne Sleep.

i loved the radio shows but didn’t think the other characters in the tv show made sense, don’t know why they couldn’t use the radio characters.

Having been of the conventional view that "Count Arthur works best on the radio", re-watching this series is beginning to change my mind. There are little moments of genius - like this one or the the flying lessons. Perhaps the fact that Linehan was the co-writer lies behind that.
