Tap testing for more productive machining 

A demonstration of tap testing to improve productivity and quality in machining - in this case, milling an aluminium alloy. Tap testing involves analysing the dynamics of a machine/workpiece set-up, and identifying regions of stability which avoid harmful chatter or vibrations.
This project was part of research into fundamental machining techniques and technologies, funded by the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
