I recently got a 62 babe Ruth which was stuck in an album it has tape residue on all four corners but there is no paper loss and the corners look good. Will you product work on this card? Thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!!!

It’s extremely difficult. This worked out because the tape was super dry and I was able to lightly scratch it off. Usually it’s stuck to the card and stains it bad. it’s a case by case restoration. Usually more no than yes.

What about a hair dryer to try and melt the sticky part of the tape/residue?

That makes sense Tom. But with these it’s already baked into the card it’s like a chemical reaction that physically changes the color.

Can you tell by looking at it if the tape is going to pull the card up with it when you try to remove?

Not with total accuracy. But when it's partially peeling and cracks are in it is when I got the best results. I've tried this other times and got nowhere.

@@DanielRuyter if you start trying to chip away the tape, and none of it chips off from any side of the tape just let it go. But if you can get a little bit of it to start chipping, you can work it away one little piece at a time.

I have used liter fluid for lighters to help loosen the glue. It won't damage a card and can repeat more than once. Just use a q-tip, blot and then rub to loosen and even remove. Good luck.

I have 300+ 1956 Topps cards that were taped into a scrap book and I'm desperate to remove the tape. Between Kurt's methods and products I'm very optimistic about this project. Any additional tips in tape removal are welcomed. =)

Show me some pictures if you’re on Instagram Steve. Tape like this sucks and I was able to get this off because it was so dry. I’ll give you some more tips if you wanna show me some pictures.
