This is basically my exact hairstyle these days, so this is helpful, because cutting my own hair with self taught methods is a pain in the ass.

Great vid Stephen, I wish fades suited me... I had a zero fade done a couple times last year but it didn't suit me real good and was disappointed because I had a barber that could do fades REALLY well to his credit too..... It looked quite good at the sides but at the back it looked absolutely terrible. I don't know if it's just my head shape or what but yeah wasn't happy with the fade look in the end. I'm growing my hair out now anyway so not worried about any of that stuff anymore hehe. Had short hair cuts for majority of my life but now after almost 3 full months of growth, boy am I feeling the difference up top XD

do you think cutting your own hair (with barber tools) can reach the same level as a barbershop? and how do i deal with awkward angles like cutting the back im not that flexible, thanks

You basically answered your own questions lol. If you can’t reach or put your hands in needed positions then don’t try it. It’s not easy but you can always try to see what results you get.

Perfect tutorial. Just cut my hair out if frustration haha. Left the top mostly except taking a bit off to get my bangs up to about my eyebrows but didn't really know how to connect it all. I'll let my buddy see this to help me get it to a style that doesn't look like I just took clippers to my sides and back. Unfortunately cosmetology school doesn't cover much on the short side or its aimed for a more softened look which doesn't suit me. After I get my cosmotology license Im going to enroll in barber school. Think its only an addition 300hrs in my state. Feel much more satisfaction on mens cuts with clippers and a bit of scissor work on top. Everyone liked my mannequin from a kpop styled mullet you did a tutorial on. Though I put mine a tad higher since I was unfamiliar with framing so I cut it wet 😅. Still looked good, people really liked it after I dyed it with some fashion colors.
