Tapestry Of Nations: The Sage Of Time Prologue / Millennium Heartbeat / The Great Millennium Walk / Reach For The Stars / The Human Spirit Music composed by Gavin Greenaway
This gives me all the goosiebumps.... my husband proposed to me immediately following "Illuminations", much to my surprise. We walked out of EPCOT listening to this as a newly engaged couple. I think of that moment every time I hear this.
Ha so did I lol during the final we go onnnnnn she said yes, fireworks in the background was like out of a movie. PERFECT TIMING! Now illuminations is gone forever..... that show is one of the reason's we went back year after year... as with many others I'd assume
I hope they bring it back for a week so that when I find the woman I want to marry I can propose to her before illuminations and then watch together. And then I'll cry as we walk out of the park hearing promise play in the background
I was in this parade and I still bought the CD and listened to it almost every night even after I was no longer in the show. I loved the music- my cast members- the puppets- costumes- and the parade! Good times! :)
Every time I listen to this song, I get emotional... I don't know what it is about this song or Walt Disney World, but it takes me to a place where I know the innocence of childhood will never be lost. I pray every day that the magic of this wonderful place will never be lost and that generation upon generation will continue to find the magic in it that I've discovered many many times.
I couldn't agree with you more. I grew up going to Disney just about every summer since I was 5. I'm now 35..lol But it's something very special I got to share with my mom and to me it helps keep her alive. I already made a pact with my wife that since I took her and introduced her to "the world" as we call it, we would continue it with our own kids no matter what. It's like the outside world doesn't exist anymore when you're there. Innocence returned and restored, purity and paradise found. Sorry for the long diatribe, the music hot me teary eyed.. lol
I grew up with Epcot as my favorite park. I see that Millennials got to see something that Gen Z will likely never get to see. I hope that imagineers will bring Epcot to what it used to be and will bring back the ideas that make Epcot Epcot.
That’s beautiful I was lucky enough to be to be there with my family watching the parade. My dad passed away but this music always makes me think of him and when I’m down always helps me find the magic.
This song haunts me forever, parts of it will pop into my brain, and every few years I must revisit it, this last time, i was brought to tears by some parts, and I don't know why.
I was lucky enough to be in Epcot for the first night of Epcot Forever. When this music came on you feel the whole crowd get excited and emotional. I thought, "This music hasn't played here in almost 20 years" as I had tears in my eyes. To those who were able to grow up with with Disney World, Epcot Forever is a truly wonderful and touching tribute to the history of this unique park.
@@gonzo6489 It played every night after Reflections of Earth.... well after Promise finished. Epcot has never really been without the full song until the start of Epcot Forever.
My husband and I never missed this when we were at Disney. I own the CD and cry when I listen to it since he passed away. He held me as we watched the parade and after when they played the music during the fireworks.
I was young when the millennium parade was happening, but me and my sister were right at the beginning where it first started and one of the tall ribbon looking guys took me and her out of the crowd and we were in the whole parade. Best memory I have of Disney, it was so magical and I will never get tired of this music
10:35 Put your hand on the future Share a dream together around the world With a voice from every country, a face from every land We'll celebrate the future hand in hand We'll celebrate the future hand in hand
Right? Early 2000s had the best Disney theme park music. Spectro Magic, Wishes, Fantasmic, illuminations, Celebrate the Magic, Remember the Magic. Wow.
@@taylorshelton3267 We ought to petition. If Disney wants to make money like they love doing, they should know that nostalgia sells. And when they purchased the lands in Florida they left plenty of room for expansion, including around existing theme parks. So I don't buy the whole "too crowded" line. Tapestry was definitely sensitive to windy weather with the giant puppets. But it doesn't mean such a thing can't happen again. If that's what it takes to bring back people back, I'm all in.
The hope that radiates through this track can only come from a pre-9/11 era. :/ I loved the Millennium Celebration, and all it stood for. But man it's bittersweet for me today.
This was the best parade Disney ever did and I miss it dearly. The visuals, but especially the music was phenomenal, it brought tears to our eyes. Epcot should get back in the groove and have parades again, its a great opportunity to work with more 'adult' oriented material.
+Jake Ingersoll I Almost cried when I heard it last year when I worked there for a bit from January till July... I remember seeing this parade when I was a child :) It was one of the things I loved the most during the trip... I wish it was there to stay :(
+Jake Ingersoll I work at Disney World currently and I just saw Illuminations for the first time ever two nights ago. I started sobbing as soon as they played the music I was like, "wait a minute... they're playing this song!!!" And I started freaking out and my roommates looked at me as if I was crazy. haha.
That's awesome! I never saw the millennium celebration but am almost always at Epcot at night right before closing walking from the seas ( my favorite pavilion) to the world showcase exit to get to my hotel. I heard this music and loved it. Also I'm super jealous of you. Work in at Epcot must be kinda awesome. :D
Jake Ingersoll I actually work at magic kingdom but yes it is amazing! I get to work wishes and the electrical parade every night. I love being able to go to the parks on my days off and not have to worry about rushing. I can take time, but I love seeing people make memories and I love making them for people the most.
19:41 goosebumps and tears in my eyes such an amazing and magical soundtrack wow wow wow i miss my childhood i grew up with disney i will never forget all the magic and happy times i had
Met Gavin in 2000 when I was 5. He allowed me to view the display from a private section with my family and was a one of the nicest people I've met. Amazing experience I will never ever forget. If you ever see this, thank you!
Its 2019 and I’m sitting with my sister going through OLD video tapes from family vacations to Florida and we’ve watched the tapestry of nations parade twice already 🥰 good times.
Lmao I did the same and found ours from seeing it back in 2000 this song stuck in my head from day one. But I can't find ut on spotify just the song tabestry of nations but no lyrics to the singing part that doesn't even sound like the song
This is weirdly dated in a way that's hard to define. "World music" was big around the turn of the millennium, and this song captures the syrupy-sweet, ultra optimistic global togetherness vibe Disney had going around that time.
Alex G Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Both Festival of Fantasy in MK and Epcot Forever are fresh and exciting, giving off more of a “celebrate the magic” vibe than anything else, focusing both on WDW’s history and its future simultaneously
Alex G Plenty of cynicism, pessimism and misery everywhere else. That’s why I like Epcot, it retains an optimistic and positive hope for the future (so far at least, we’ll see what becomes of it after the overhaul).
There is nothing like exiting Epcot with this song playing, and turning around to take one final look at Spaceship Earth with its pretty pink and purple lights and palm tree silhouettes. If only one could bottle up these beautiful moments and relive them at any time.
My dad worked at Epcot and LOVED this song! He was a stickler about driving with no music but he made an exception for this song. Thank you so much for putting this up, because I can no longer fine the CD my dad had with all these songs on it!
2000 and 2001 were the best years. I was 10 years old, I got to go to Disney World with my whole extended family and go to most of the parks. I feel like everything back then had more hope in it, like humanity was on the right track, and this music really reflected that. But now I feel like everyone is so much more dismal.
Hi, this is Samantha. In January of 2001 when I went to Disney World with my family. I had just gotten my first (and only) manual wheelchair. It felt great using it at the parks. For the first time. I had seen the parade that this song. That starts at the 5:20 mark, played in. It was wonderful. Listening to this song as we were heading out of Epcot. It felt pretty special. Just a few months later that year. I got my first power wheelchair. I’m on my second power wheelchair right now. After my first one retired in 2016. The year 2016 was the time I started renting a power chair at Disney World. I’ve been doing it ever since. It made it easier on my family.
Listening to this brought me back sooo many memories and tears to my eyes since I miss living in Florida and seeing my brother perform in this from the beginning of its run through a little more then half way through it. It was just soo beautiful. Disney needs to bring it back :)
Best. Parade. Ever, It was great in it's "Tapestry of Dreams" form as well...slightly different theme and all. The millennium was a pretty magical time around WDW and EPCOT in particular. While I still love it and visit at least a week out of the year, it's not the same these days. But, then, neither am I. By the way...it now makes up some of the exit music after Illuminations.
@@anthonymurphy818 A lot of the EPCOT meaning is about scientific innovation. Although with nations of the world like that plus science, it's a tribute to endless and ever-forthcoming human ability.
my earliest memory is of being invited to join in the parade, dancing with the stilt walkers. i was three. this music, IllumiNations, and Epcot continue to be my favorite part of Disney. I listen to this at least once a week and still tear up every time. I hope they never get rid of Illuminations firework show!
I found the CD at a thrift store years and I must say this makes me want to go back to Disney world but thank goodness I'm going in this year in December when it's cold
This music brings me such joy. I never got to see Tapestry of Nations, but Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is my favorite fireworks show. Some of my favorite memories from Disney World are from spending time in Epcot after the fireworks show, listening to this beautiful music and soaking in the atmosphere of my favorite place on Earth.
11:01 is my favorite part. I imagine a global dance party, with nighttime being everywhere, where every single human being on the planet is busting it out without a care, and the planet transforms into its own disco ball, shining lights in every given space. Man, I wish I could've been taken to WDW at the turn of the millennium to see this show.
i was there at disney world it was all a surprise from my mother me an my brother was estatic. we saw the perade and heard the music i was forever hooked and the epcot fireworks the wole island lit up with colors and sound i was a kid again. that was the most amazing experience in my life i went to epcot ever night for the parade and the fireworks. it takes you on a journey through sound and color and laughter. i will always remember my time at disney world. Hey. dreams do come true.
I thought it was hey la!!! Lol well it is beautiful and gives me goosebumps and tears! Love it!!!! The whole Disney illuminations! I am sick about it being gone!!!!
I vaguely remember this parade. I had recently turned 5, and I remember the giant puppet things and their crazy colors. I remember they would go around and shake people's hands, I believe the puppets' hands' were wood. They scared me, yet I was in awe. I promised myself I wouldn't shake their hand this time, but next time, when I'm older, I was going to. I didn't realize there was never going to be a next time :(( But I still listen to this cd all the time- I grew up to it. It's part of me
Just fantastic. I remember being in Epcot for this back in 2000 as a kid. Is still my favourite Disney parade, and my favourite of their parade music. Just so fantastic.
So funny story. For the longest time like since i was YOUNG, I had a song in my head. Like a tune that I found so beautiful and moving and pretty. I never knew where it came from or when I had heard it. No lyrics. Just the tune. It bothered me so much bc every now and again I'd hear it in my mind and feel my chest swell with this strained longing and happiness. Like 8 or 9 years ago, my friend jess had a marathon through epcot and Disney and I went down with her. We did all the stuff and the last night we were there we went to epcot for the day and to do the fireworks at night. After the fireworks were done and we were leaving, the song tapestry of nations came on, and specifically the great millennium walk. I literally broke down in tears. It was the song that I had in my head for YEARS. I asked my mom and she told me that we went to epcot when I was around 6yo. Everytime i hear this i feel that same swell of emotions. I really wanted to share that with you guys 🥰
a top 5 memory was the 99-00 new years celebration. i surprised my high school sweetheart cause she was down there with the high school band and in was in a soccer tournament. we spent the whole day together and one of the employees pulled us aside and gave us bracelets to the best seats in the house for the firework show at midnite for the new years.
Always pulls a tear of happiness. I would hold my wife and daughter, ride a bus back to our hotel and tuck them in to be ready for another day of magic.
We went to the Florida's Disney World (all four major themed parks) fifteen years ago and last month after fifteen years we went back to Florida's Disney World with our precious child of the next generation. I noticed that my first experience of Disney World was so much more impressive. This Millennium Celebration music was the first time I heard of it at Epcot center and we actually also bought the CD as well during our time there. This time we were at Epcot, there were no powerful heart-wrenching inspirational music like this one. Nevertheless, through the eyes of children, we still saw magic in Disney World. However, this Millennium Celebration music will always be in my heart as one of the greatest moments in my younger life.
Beautiful lyrics about a flying grandmother that watches TV =') Vuela, oh vuela abuela, heeyeeyee, oyeeeyee... Vuela, o ve la tele, o me lleve, oye wey... (x2) Oh me llueve, oh me lleva, oh me lleve, eres meona; Oh me llueve, oh me lleva, oh me lleve, o me ye; Vuela, o vuela abuela, heyeyeyeye, oyeeyee... Vuela, o ve la tele, o me lleve, oye wey... (x2) Me-e lleva, oh, wey, yey!
Thank you so, so much for uploading this. Brings back so many emotions as I saw this parade as a kid in 2000. I can't wait till I have my own family to take to Disney and have amazing memories like I do. This music does crazy things. I'm sat here with tears in my eyes but with a smile on my face! Best parade ever to be at Disney!! Does anyone know where I could buy this CD? I've looked on Amazon & they're around £50! Would love to be able to have it on CD. X
Great song and great times. It's a shame that the world had to change. 2000 gave us so much hope and dreams. Now 2000 will be for me, the last year of normal on earth. So sad.
Found this on a whim, and it brought back to many memories. I sent it to my kids (now grown), and every one of them commented on what good memories this evoked. The Millennium Celebration was truly a classic, and Disney outdid themselves at the time. Great music to celebrate the millennium. The hope and optimism was contagious.
This brings back good memories of my trip to Walt disney world's epcot. The tapestry of nations was the best parade at epcot especially around Christmas and new year's eve from 1999-2000.
This was such a great parade with such an incredible soundtrack. I hated that they ended it. Cast members dubbed it "The Parade that No One Watches". Oh well, bring on the Frozen Ride. (stomach just turned)
I wish I could have seen this parade. I have listened to this youtube "video" so many times, that I finally bought the CD (second hand). The illuminations music (same composer) is also perfect.
We took our daughter to Epcot, and Disney World quite a few times when she was growing up. Very emotional. I still remember standing there, watching it with her.
Could easily be Four Tet up to about the 2 minute mark. Also, seeing this parade in the year 2000 is one of those rose-tinted, warm, family-filled memories that you have. What a time.
I love this parade more than anything at WDW. I've always loved the music and I listen to it almost every day to cheer myself up. This parade means the world to me, and I cry when I watch videos of it. If they ever brought it back, I would be SO happy! :)
This was absolutely the best parade that Disney has ever had. Even better than the Mainstreet Electrical Parade. I literally wept as we watched this parade. There is something about it that touches the heart. And it touched mine.
I've been listening to this track for YEARS and it gives me a whole movie of emotions and mental images every time. thanks for posting it up on youtube, i enjoy this as background music while working often.
Love this music. My family has gone several times but our trip in 2000 was very special and the parade and this song brings back so many great memories. thank you for posting it here!!!!
Thanks so much for posting this. I was at Epcot last week, heard this after the fireworks and was instantly in love. I have been scouring the Internet, trying to find it, and finally found it here. I felt a chill when I recognized that chorale piece. So beautiful! It makes my day better for having listened to it. Thanks again!
Outstanding! Takes me back to our trip to Disney in Orlando before 2000 , and the memories it stirs within me are of wonder and joy! I can never forget walking around the park listening to this and the maddening desire to dance and twirl to this music...
I wish the WHOLE song and all its lyrics had been on the CD. It was so uplifting and beautiful, and I cried when I found it wasn't all present on the CD. But still beautiful, and the memories are so special!
10:36 I get chills whenever the part that quotes "Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand" comes up. Put your hands on the future Share a dream together around the world With a voice from ev'ry country A face from ev'ry land We'll celebrate the future Hand in hand! Celebrate the future Hand... in hand!
I remember walking around Disney listening to this music during the celebration. Fantastic memories :) I bought this soundtrack but can't find it now so thanks for sharing on here!
If you like this and know it, check out DCI DCI Cadets 2000 show. Tapestry begins faced away and at fanfare the whole Corp turns and puts it in your face!
“People go to Disney and expect to see Disney characters” NAH… people go to Disney to see crazy stuff like this and say “dang only Disney could pull this off”
