"Behold! The Tapestry Of Nations..." -- Some tall guy.
Tapestry of Nations was the parade created for the Millennium Celebration in Epcot. Led by the Sage Of Time, oversized puppets and rhythmic drums followed, all to an original score written for the parade. Add the cast controlling the puppets and the guest interaction made it my favorite daytime parade.
When the Millennial Celebration ended on January 1, 2001, The Sage of Time got stripped of his title, parade prologues and narration were changed, and all references to the millennial were removed. Otherwise the parade remained relatively intact. Better camerawork in this one though, I'd had a little more practice, lol...
This version of the parade (the post-millennium version) only ran for 9 months. In September 2001, the parade closed for a couple of weeks, and was reborn as the Tapestry Of Dreams, as part of the 100 Years Of Magic celebration. (Walt's 100th birthday.)
sniff. Epcot was never designed for a parade, anyway...
There were still three parade units. One traveled between Mexico and Norway. The second between Norway and Germany. The third between Germany and Canada. The parade was held twice per day, once in the afternoon, and once just before Illuminations.
The parade is about 15-20 minutes long. The score played in the park is about 30 minutes long. The extra time is because one parade unit can't go backstage while another unit is coming onstage, so there was some overlap. That also means if you watch the parade at Norway or Germany, you can see two parade units in one parade.
I taped this in June 2001, which means it's NTSC 480i parading as 1080p, but it's in bright light so it doesn't look that bad. It was taped in Germany. At the 20 minute mark after taping the entire parade, I moved to Germany's backstage entrance to capture the tall guy's dialogue, and the end of the parade. So this video is about 25 minutes long, but it does contains the entire parade.
