If you lived through this period of great music without the expletives just design for pure groove and enjoyment the hot raves locked down in a corner with a chick. Remembering those days is all that keep us going and hearing these vibes take me back..
And to think this tune nearly wasn't released. It was originally a jam session with Horace Andy freestyling lyrics. Tapper Zukie happened to be in the studio, and he got in on the action, starting toasting and that was that!!👍🏽❤🎶
I've listened to the version with and without Tappa Zukie, and in all honesty, Tappa Zukie brings that much needed energy.... I'm amazed at how you got this inside track on this fire...... was it passed down to you?
I can almost smell the Sunday chicken wafting from the kitchen at around 3 in the afternoon, mum humming and cooking with the radio bucking the Tony Williams show , me up and down in my Bauer’s and leg warmers (all when sun ah beat) The rastaman dem opposite on the wall reasoning loud and animatedly beating a chalice and I stare in amazement at how much smoke would come from their noses lolol I would have been 7 - 8 yrs old at that time I am now 44 and this song totally embodies my beautiful happy analogue childhood In mid 80’s south London Peace and love to all !!
"I can almost smell the Sunday chicken wafting from the kitchen at around 3 in the afternoon, mum humming and cooking with the radio bucking.." Yes man
NohateNohype NohateNohype You painted such a great picture with your memory. It sounded like great times with this type of music back then. Oh how I wish i had a time machine
Memories memories .....with my man at a dance ....wrapped up with him in a corner .....smoked filled the air of the best weed and a peach canai in my hand ....🙂🙂❤
Lol my first record, as Teenager we were told to bring in records to play In music class, it was a mainly white middle class school, as was I, I played this and everyone was like wtf lol! Reggae still my number one today!
I remember those days back in England bringing music to school to play. I brought in Warrior Charge got a WTF moment from a lot of people I even dropped piano concerto by Beethoven I was well versed in all genres !!!
😂I had the same experience as you but I brought in The Police’s “Ghost in the machine” album which I still can’t believe wasn’t hip enough for my elementary class??? It was 1984!!
Still hits hard in all the right places. From being a scrappy 15 year old youth in Sheffield to a bloke in mid 50s now living in USA with wife, kids, business, responsibilities piled high, mortgage... but still a slave to riddim.

I was in the US air force stationed in the UK in the early 80's. Thats when l first heard of lovers rock and have loved it ever since. I used to drive around 80 miles from the base near Cambridge to Brixton in London to this reggae store and l would listen to reggae all day, such great memories.
This here music is like a good breath of fresh air. This music should always be played on the radio so people can feel good about life and themselves. The world needs to really chill out and feel inspired to love. This here reggae music from this era has the power to do just that!!!

Remind me of 1979 when my mom had her send off party a few days before migrating to the US. I think that party was the best our house ever had. She was a reservation supervisor at the Jamaica Hilton (now RIU) and her friends from work brought her gifts. That was when it hit me that mommy was really leaving. It was a tough 6 months then she returned home resigned her job, came back to Chicago and I fell into a very deep depression, until I joined her 2 years later. My mom and I were very close. Now I've lost her again to cancer. I slumped into depression again, dropped out of my criminal law classes. I am slowly rising again. Miss you mommy.
Hold on my brother. She's ok with God, He will never abandon her or you. Trod forward. She's looking down on you & by the grace of God, we will All meet our loved ones again where there's everlasting life. I recommend to read the Holy Scriptures, particularly the Gospels. Have Faith and Peace, but understand that this is a process you will get through . Don't ever be discouraged! I lost loved ones to the horrible disease also. But, God carried me through when my own legs couldn't. Don't be unbelievable in God. Trust me.
Hope you okay now and strong now but we face another problem today with this horrible virus but we must stay strong for how love ones....bless you all from London uk...
