It almost brought tears to my eyes when you said you had so much liver to sell & were putting it on at $1.00 a pound! Good liver can be hard to find at times, but we always do it on the Bar-b-q. My wife puts olive oil on some aluminium foil, left open, to cook the liver on and on a separate, oiled piece of aluminium foil, left open, she puts cut up onions & cut up bacon together. Stirring the bacon & onions at times while they cook. I know you said you don't like liver, Pete, but for anyone who does, this is the Rolls Royce way of preparing it!

If you feel guilty for spending an extra hour inside, you have only yourself to blame, Pete!!! I used to drive myself unmercifully, farming and I came to realize that I was robbing myself of a lot of good times with others, because of my personal drive, and I made a major change, and have not looked back!! At least now I can enjoy my retirement and hope you will be able to too, when that time comes.

I started my Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship in 1972 at the South Australian Highways Department. We rebuilt everything from Fordson tractors to Caterpillar D9 dozers EXACTLY how you do. Each and every component was taken back to it's very foundations and 'rebuilt'. I learned that you didn't need to know where every bolt came from, you worked out where it was needed and where it fit.

By the time you are finished posting videos, your family (and your viewers), will have an extensive video collection of all aspects of a simple farm life, how you solved everyday problems and why you chose the solutions you did. Last comment of mine - for quite a while - as to why I like your channel. My DK maternal family owned a small scale family farm operation 1750-1990, which grew from 10 to 45 acres by 1920. It was mixed farming (24 dairy cattle, 200 pigs and a couple dozens chicken, doves and ducks, and sugar beet, rye and barley cropping with a few acres of grazing for the dairy cattle during the summer). It sustained big families of mine, with extra income for two and a half centuries. My parents living nearby, we often visited my grandmother and her two sons managing the farm 1946-1990. First things that I'll be doing during a visit was to explore the barns, chicken coop and collect the eggs, and chase the the free-ranging ducks. I also explored the two acre vegetable garden and fruit orchard. In short, I've always had fond memories of small scale farming, most of of my school friends out of the same heritage for centuries on a small Danish Baltic island.

In one of your recent episodes, I heard Pete saying that he he did not care much for cooked liver dishes. Well, have you tried home-made liver pate - my favorite sandwich stable during my childhood and youth in Denmark. When emigrating to Alberta, Canada (beef country for the rest of the nation and exports to the US and other world nations), I could not find the liver pate of the liking to my taste buds in supermarkets. Three varieties became available during the 1990s: pepper, cognac and herbal additions to a basic liver pate recipe - not to my perfect taste bud liking, but better than nothing. I occasionally made my own pate according to a Danish recipe until the 1990s, but too busy as a working engineer to keep up the supply. I'll send you the recipe in a separate comment entry.

Earthquake!!! Yes, I felt the earthquake and saw my dishes fall off the kitchen dish rack onto the floor. Strange weather this year for where I live. Too warm and dry of a winter. And spring is too wet. We had a train derailment, flooding that caused partial bridge collapse, Then the biggest quake tremor. I live close to the earthquake epicenter, west in PA. Our local farmers are saying with all the odd weather issues we experienced this year so far, farming season will be different. Thanks for sharing with us. Danes prefer to dress their cold or heated-up pate sandwiches with three types: fried bacon chips, sliced mushrooms or water cress (pepper grass) sprouts - the latter available in all DK supermarkets all year around, in shallow 1" by 3" by 6" trays, grown on a cotton medium. I've for years grown my own water cress sprouts indoors with daily watering the same way as DK wholesale growers have, the sprouts allowed to grow to about about 1" height in 10-14 days and harvested as a dressing for pate, salads, etc. by clipping the sprouts down to the cotton level.

Suggestion: Hi Pete. For the farmers market, how about doing overhead drone shots. This would eliminate individual privacy issues, and actually be interesting for your viewers. I’ve seen bits and pieces of the farmers market, but would enjoy seeing overhead shots of it, the entrance, and what appears to be a lake or river nearby, how traffic flows through the day, how close (or far) it is to local towns and communities. I think you could easily do 3-5 episodes, augmented and enhanced by you explaining the area and history. Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing the video Pete. Hope y'all have a great rest of your Sunday and a great week. Thanks for explaining all you do. It's a going to be nice when you get the 856 painted. I can't wait to see it finished. You do an amazing job on them. Take care.

What a nice way to start the week! BTW - we had a huge team of Canadian geese heading up your way, they came through yesterday after stopping at the farm pond behind my house. So be on the look-out, they're coming from Maryland. Have a great week, we'll see you soon!

I understand your hesitance in filming at the farmer's market but I'll bet there are several security cameras there monitoring everyone's activity anyway. There is no expectation of privacy in public. I wouldn't feel a bit bad about it.

You are correct, there is no expectation of privacy in public, but security footage isn’t posted on RU-vid. Some people prefer to remain private and I respect Pete for respecting that.

Nah I’d rather not be filmed and posted on RU-vid everywhere I go.

I think what Pete is saying that some customers may hesitate stepping up to his booth if a camera is in their face. I totally understand that there is no expectation of privacy in public, but some people may choose not to be on camera, which might slow business down for Pete.

Ooooo... a ratcheting tap wrench. Very nice. Tap/die work is very rewarding when it's time to assemble. And when you need a bottoming tap, you NEED a bottoming tap. Always nice to get the critter fix/update. Ugh... enough of the cold/wet nasties. C'mon spring!!
