Ang BURONG ISDA ay masarap na appetizer. Paborito ng karamihan. Matipid na ulam! Maganda rin na pangkabuhayan sa napakaliit na puhunan lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya na marami ang nawalan ng trabaho. Sa bahay ka lang puede mong gawin. Sipag at tiyaga lang ang kailangan!
Fermented fish (BURONG ISDA) is a traditional preservation of fish. Before refrigeration, canning and other modern preservation techniques became available, fermenting was an important preservation method. Fish rapidly spoils, or goes rotten, unless some method is applied to stop the bacteria that produce the spoilage .

These are the health benefits of BURONG ISDA as per my research, although it may not provide Vit. K 2 which are present in other fermented foods (e.g. soybeans), animal and dairy produtcs, etc. Nevertheless, burong isda has healthy benefits for human body. Fermentation increases levels and bio­availability of some nutrients (such as zinc, magnesium, and B vitamins), while it reduces “anti-nutrients” (such as phytates, which interfere with absorption of miner­als) and other unwanted compounds (such as natural toxins in foods). It reduces lac­tose in dairy products, making them easier for some people to tolerate. Some fermented foods also introduce microorganisms into the gut, which may help maintain a healthy digestive system; in turn, byproducts created by them, including bioactive peptides, may have a beneficial effect on blood pressure, cho­lesterol, immunity, and cancer prevention. Burong isda is good but when cooked you kill those microorganism. But i still believe some nutrients byproducts of fermentation of fish and rice are beneficial to our health. Alive fermented foods such as kumbucha, tapoy, kimchi etc, if eaten raw your are introducing microorganism to your stomach.

Rosalina...Ilagay lang sa shelves or mas maganda sa loob ng kitchen cabinet ang mga containers ng ibuburong isda kasi mainit doon, fernentation - 5 to 7 days. Mas maganda pa nga sakluban ng plastic sando bag. On the 3rd day puede mo siya i-check para makita mo ang progress niya. Then pag na-ferment na after 7 days, puede mo na siya iimbak sa ref. pra mapigilan na ang fermentation kasi the longer the fermentation ay nagiging maasim ang buro, so mas maganda ilagay na sa ref at kumuha na lang konti-konti para igisa na sa bawang, sibuyas, kamatis...yummy!

@@khimdeleon4695 Hello Khim, parang hindi normal kung may amag at kulay green. Baka nasira yong buro, hindi siya na-ferment. Malamang kulang siya sa asin or baka nadumihan. Or baka hindi tight ang cover ng container kaya napasukan ng bacteria. Dapat puti pa rin ang kulay ng binurong kanin after ng fermentation, brother. Try mo lang gumawa ng isang garapon at sundin ng tama yong instructions. 😁😁

Hello Barbarian Baler, I think puede ring nalaga na yong labong para walang pait. Pero itong inilagay namin ay hilaw, kc yong labong ay napakamura pa, meaning hindi siya magulang, kaya di mapait.

Juliet Sali Lacerna Espino Magkakaroon ng konting tubig kc ma-fe-ferment siya. Basta huwag lang siya magka-amag at bumaho. Ok yon. After 5 to 7 days mafe-ferment na yan pag mainit ang panahon. Ikulob mo siya sa madilim na lugar pra maganda siya ma-ferment P.S. Kaya minsan nasisira ang buro (meaning hindi maganda ang fermentation) dahil hindi nalinisan mabuti yong isda at bka napasukan yong garapon ng dumi like bactetia. Kailangan malinis lahat. 😁🥰 try and try lang, mape-perfect mo rin yan! Thank you.
