+Lasse J Ougaard, The film was taken during practice, when the roads were still open for private road use. When the race was held, all private traffic was not allowed on the course.

Lol this is simply amazing, there are still car parked on the side of the road haha. I would have LOVED to live in that time where everything was a race track!
@MayoDK Teams would come a few days before official practice so that "new drivers" or drivers that are in "new cars" would have a feel or learn the track better...Thats why roads weren't closed
Think you might be right there......awww what a wonderful clip, all i had to go by was reports in Motoring News or Motor Sport, but seeing this just brings it all back, surely it has to be one of the v v best courses / races,etc...can see why it was dropped from the WSC, did u notice the old pick up truck on the road going in the opposite direction at the same time!!
This is just fab...so many memories,..one of the best circuits EVER, real heroes, big sportscars, soo wish I could have done it.....Nino Vacarella in a 512S,hardly a rally car, unlike the lightweight 908's, specially developed..each with a playing card emblem, so JW could recognise each car in the mountains.....oh happy days!

When it was held, in qualifying and practice rounds, the roads were open to public use as well. They were closed on race day only. And the race was more like a rally stage. The racers were sent off one by one with 15/20 seconds between them.
