It's stressful re-watching this. God knows what is was like for you and the team trying to fix it live 😃. Great job all and thanks for another great event.
I feel your pain with the RFactor 2 problems. Why is "modern" sim racing so ridiculously fragile and frustrating? I bought a G29 wheel as a starter wheel to get into racing 6 months ago, and haven't touched the wheel for 3 months after I wasted 3 months of my life trying to diagnose brain dead force feedback / windows registry and other related problems. I had this silly, naive view that I'd be actually driving and having fun after maybe a week of setup but instead I've had had endless mind-numbing support discussion and forum reading. Logitech has been an absolute nightmare on Windows 10. My system is perfectly stable, clean from crapware and well maintained. The issue is simply a combination of incompetent/poorly tested Logitech software and game devs who don't give a shit once they have your money. The latest before I gave up was Logitech provided me with a magical registry edit that finally enabled FFB for all games except AMS2 (and I believe Project cars games). When I ran AMS2 it not only has no FFB, it reverts registry changes and disables FFB system wide until I restart the PC. What an absolute joke!
That's weird because the Logitech G29 is probably the most popular and supported wheel for racing sims. I have a rare oddball Fanatec P911 Carrera wheel set that doesn't have a specific default menu setting named for it in any sims, new or old, and I got it working in GTR 2, GT Legends, Assetto Corsa and the PCars 2 demo. Maybe your G29 is defective because it should be the easiest wheel to just plug in, select G29 from the menu, and play.
The game used is rFactor2 2 with free mods for the cars and tracks. So rF2 PC specs are a good starting point. However, to get it running nicely, with good graphics and some of these big mods; you will probably want to up the PC specs, if you can. Jake has some great & knowledgeable people who hang out on his Discord, so you could ask there too.
@@docslappy8946 Thanks Doc! My 8yr old PC gave up the ghost, and just picked up a decent deal on a more modern rig. Wrapped up RL racing this year, and planning on drastically lowering expenses by virtually racing in 2023.
Ahhh ☹️ just got to the end part. Very sad to see even though I knew what was coming up (I'm catching up after the event). I know there are drop races, and this was going to be a challenge in the Jag, but I know this was probably the most important event for you.
Doesn't seem like you were really in the grove. You can't race someone who is behind you. Your always racing yourself. Go Hummmm.... and race your race. :} Tuff to see that happen.
