@@dinky122 See the problem with that is being able to verify if someone is trans. And not just for the safety of the cis - but for the safety of the trans as well. What if an un-op/pre-op FtM walks into the men's bathroom? He's just as much at risk of being raped by the cis men in that bathroom, as cis women are of being raped by a fake. And let's not forget or deny that cis females are just as capable of raping cis males, either, so shuffle those genders around in that sentence and it still reads accurately. I'm all for trans people using the bathroom they identify with - but only if they're post-op. And no, we're not gonna have bouncers checking people's pants - there should be some certificate given by the doctors/surgeons after reassignment, that proves they've been reassigned.

Deadass these are my relatives. The kids don’t (or at least didn’t at the time) go to school. They are VERY fundamentalist and do this sort of thing all the time. Their kids are brainwashed of course but they’re altogether nice kids. They didn’t have access to the internet, TV, or any video games for a long time. The sad thing is that their parents used to be really cool.
I grew up in a community like this too - homeschooled, zero exposure to pop culture, literally encouraged to approach strangers in public to push our religion on them. The good news is that the majority of kids DO get out as soon as they're adults and turn out just fine. As long as you're willing to work through a lil trauma, I think it actually makes you a very balanced and compassionate person having seen everything NOT to do lol

In my town and the one in the town I work at, the Targets have 4 bathrooms: 1 mens, 1 womens and 2 "family" restroom. The last two are one person or family use that has a lock so parents and people who are trans/identify as another/different/no gender can feel better/safer and I praise them for making more options available. People like this, though, are the ones calling others evil when they're showing how evil THEY really are

I think it's more about examples we've seen in the past where they expose themselves to women (without going through the surgery) and get away with that. It is a legitimate concern, but her presentation of it isn't very convincing
