Thanks so much for this video. Just rented this machine from Home Depot and they did not even have an instruction sheet nor did they know what the leveler knob was for. This video saved time and aggravation. Thanks again.
What an excellent video. If I lived in Durango, I'd rent from you just because the videos are so good. Thank you for getting all the details mentioned.
Thank you so much for your excellent demonstration. This is very useful for the aging weekend warrior who does not want to dig a number of 30" x 10" post holes by hand. This tow-behind unit is far more user friendly than the old school one/two man powered auger.
Wow, this instructional video was well done. Lots of quality content, no fluff. I wish you were near me. I would rent from you. My sincere compliments.
I rented one of these from Home Depot and was disappointing by the power. I went through clay with a 12" auger attachment. Someone may have beet me digging a 42 inch hole with a manual post digger. If you are digging through clay and have more than a couple holes, I'd recommend something more powerful, like a mini-skid steer.
I dug 32 holes 3 feet deep with a 24" drill bit on this exact machine model. I have real hard clay. I dug them, but that damn machine beat my ass. Better eat your wheaties if ya digging through clay!
Thanks for the info! Was thinking of renting this is for digging post holes in clay and no rain here for 3 months! Think I'll get a jackhammer with a clay bit instead!👍
This machine is not for all types of soil. I am in Boulder where the ground is not only rocky, but also has a layer of clay that this machine was no match for. I was only able to drill 8 of the 23 holes in a full day, and of those just a couple to the full 24" depth. I feel the rental agency should have warned me about the Groundhog's limitations, and steered me to another more powerful machine. I am hoping that the Toro Dingo will do a better job and be faster at it.
@@CarlosMunoz-wr4pj Hey Carlos, I wouldn't recommend this machine, for it wasn't heavy duty enough to dig 12" holes without being thrown off course by some of the larger rocks I encountered. I rented it from Sunbelt rentals on Pearl Parkway in Boulder, and I won't rent from them again, because they rented me a machine at the outset that was inadequate for the job, even though they knew the scope of the project. I would suggest that you check with Home Depot to see about renting a Bobcat with an auger attachment. Good luck with your project.
Do know the width between two tires? I am trying to figure it can go pass two existing deck posts? Cant find specifications from the Home Depot? Also can it be attached with 18 inch auger blade?
great video. Thanks. Just don't forget safety eye glasses and perhaps a hard hat (depending upon the ground your working in). Ya never know what you might dig up and go flying.
I just rented one of these and it was disappointing to say the least. the best application for this machine is flat ground with easy soil or small loose rocks. If you are working on a hill it will try to roll away, or wheel chocks will prevent you from angling the bit. In rocky soil, this machine does not work at all.
when I first saw info on this I noticed it lacks brake lever and braking and he demonstrated sure enough it will roll away from or toward you if not paying attention to all that is going on
There is no auger or auger bit that will cut through tree roots you will need a bar we use a broot bar or a sawzall depending on how thick and cut roots manually
To the actor in this video. You look a lot like The prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. If you watch some of his speeches and announcements to pick up some of his mannerisms and voice. You could actually fool people. The next thing would to act really dumb. There is a big market in Canada population 38 million for stupid Trudeau videos.
So funny watching you demonstrating. you haven't started the damn thing and you're already huffing and puffing! You're so out of shape man I'm worried about you:)
