I stumbled across your video and made my stands almost identical to yours except instead of using tape to fill the void inside the pipe I used injectable foam. I placed the stakes in the tube vertically, aligned the stakes so they were centered in the pipe then injected expendable foam in one end, when dried I did the same at the other end and it worked great! no movement what soever.
Ron, thanks for the comment. I use these at both outdoor ranges, where I have to carry them out to 100 yards, as well as out in the desert where I can drive to the spot. Never thought of them as too heavy to move. I do see many without ballast blowing over, which is a pain. I am still pleased with their performance and my decision to weight them down.
