Thank you for this video! I was actually wondering how the cards look like, feel like, etc. The pip thing you mentioned really helped me make a decision! Thank you!❤
I’m new to tarot and chose this as my first deck. Funny, I agree with almost all your points and yet I cant regret the purchase. I’m so happy to know that this annoying slippery feel isn’t standard! I also have small-ish hands so shuffling is an adventure in itself. That said, I love the art, and I’ve enjoyed the few experiences I’ve had with the cards. Poetic and thoughtful on anxious days, and cheeky at times when I might be feeling a little woe-is-me. Thank you for all your reviews!
Thank you for such an honest review. Everything you said you struggled with in the deck are things I don't like about decks, especially if I am purchasing an indie deck. :)
Thank you for your honest opinion. I have heard other people say the deck is very slippery. The images of the majors look lovely; however, the price point has always kept this deck off my wish list. All my best, Amber
I’m glad to have found this video. I felt strange that I didn’t connect with this deck at all but so many collectors were besotted with it. I can’t get a feel for it’s personality. I went back and forward over buying it but couldn’t justify that cost for a deck with pips and a hope that I would connect when seeing it in person. The lunar cards seem like an odd afterthought. Like “how can we make this unique?”. Lovely as they are they make zero sense to me in a tarot deck. I could see them being great clarifiers though. Having said this I am interested in the Supra oracle deck made by uusi.
I remember being undecided between the Anima Mundi deck and Pagan Otherworlds & chose the former! So glad I did because these images don’t quite connect for me. Thanks for your honest review.
I knew that you didn't like this deck because this is such a popular deck and we have not heard your thoughts on that all this time. Plus all of the decks (minus Wild unknown tarot) shown on your chanel have illustrated minors. Thank you for the review! ❤️
I was tempted a few times but decide against it because I couldn't warm up to it. I find the artwork somewhat sterile. I am glad someone else is not enamoured with it. I thought I was the only one😉😊 Thank you🧡
Racine…if someone told me that they were going to get you Pagan OtherWorlds I would have said “Rethink that” she will not like it😂😂 Love your Videos!!!!
I have the Pagen Otherworlds Tarot. I love it. The card stock is different. Yet I like the linen card stock. To me it feels higher quality than most decks. I do wish the box had been a better quality. As for image for the Pagen Otherworlds, for me it is spot on and different than my other desks and reads like a charm. I have the True Black Tarot also which I also love. I also just received a new deck with card stock like True Black. Lux Ex Umbra Tarot and it is beautiful. However minors are pip only. I think I would be interested in buying your copy of the Pagen Otherworlds. I have wanted a second copy for a while but didn’t want to pay full price a second time. I would love a second copy of True Black but also don’t want to pay full price again but it on my want list.
I love this deck, the art is exquisite. For me it very much lives up to the hype, there are so many ‘nice’ tarot decks, they’re ultra modern and bland, they all meld into one with no real symbolism or character. This is for me a true tarot deck, that’s very usable and not just just another gimmicky deck like so many others.
I'm actually opposite to you, the majors seem just ok, while I love the minors. I love the simplicity and the essentialism of the pips. That being said I love to hear a "negative" take on a deck that everyone just rages about, to see the other side. And also, I know what it's like to dislike something everyone loves and wonder if you are just missing something or what. There is so much value in finding someone who can make you feel like you aren't losing your mind. (Example, I have read the bell jar twice and it's such a struggle for me and I just don't think I love it.) I don't mind thin cards but I reallt don't like it when they are slick. Thanks for the honest review!
This one has been a hard no for me since it was released and very hyped in the community. Something about it gives me a very cold vibe, where it kind of feels it doesn't have much of a personality. Especially the courts feel very "meh" to me. I'm not surprised it's not your cup of tea, you usually seem to enjoy decks that are more alive somehow.😊
Ack, in regard to Card Stock, isn’t it just completely an issue of personal preference! I ABHOR the rubbery feel of the soft touch coating on the Witches Tarot! It does not hand-over-hand shuffle well (sticks together), and is much too bendy. That card stock feels cheap to me, nowhere near lush or high end! ☺️ And I suppose always catching a youtube walk through before purchasing is important, especially with more costly decks. I always appreciate your honest opinion; It isn’t easy to give it when reviewing a much beloved (by others) deck. (I don’t have this deck so I can’t weigh in on it.) Thanks Raecine 🖤
I needed someone to talked me out of this deck so this came in handy 😂. This deck has been on and off from my wishlist on my mind. I hated at first, then became neutral and now doubting. I would buy it just for collection. I have one deck that it's very slippery (in my opinion) which is the Terra Volatile and I hate it but still use and love the deck regardless but Pagan Otherworlds it's just... A very aesthetic deck. Imagery wise doesn't inspire me a lot.
Hello ya I feel you I'm not a fan of Pagan Otherworlds, between me not jiving with the imagery and the price point in Canadian money its a hard pass for me. (not hating on the people that love this deck) its nice to hear someone that feels the same about it as I do. Off topic alittle I have never herd the name Raecine before its a lovely name.
I am somewhat new to tarot and I bought this deck during my visit to Scotland. I just did a deck interview spread and felt really connected to most of the cards. Until I came across the Four of Swords. The first sentence in the guidebook on this card is a bible verse. 😳 as a recovering Christian I’m oddly bothered by this. I’m so curious as to why a pagan tarot deck would include a Christian Bible verse. I’m gonna struggle for a bit on what to do with this. Lol.
I looooove this deck but it's too big and SUPER SLIPPERY. I bought it when I first got into Tarot and I couldn't even read it yet. This is totally my favorite cardstock just shuffles like butterrrrr
While I love the art and pretty much keeping this deck. It is definitely not a go-to deck for me. I was kinda disappointed tbh. What disappoints me is the pips they’re really dull and boring.
I cannot understand why you are the only one that sees the issues with this overpriced deck. I purchased here in Australia, $96 and for that I get a flimsy box no guide book and card stock that is definitely not as advertised ‘luxurious heavy card stock ‘ . It’s exactly as u described. Flimsy and thin . Yes the artwork is gorgeous but I am truly let down by the cardstock and box and the fact that the book is seperate and pricey as well.
