Is the film expected to be show in Europe? I'm specifically asking for Europe because a lot of our languages are gendered. There are some that are not (Hungarian, Turkish and Swedish are one of them) but the vast majority are. I'm southeast European. You cannot speak neutrally in my language, you are either feminine or masculine. We would have to pick one and apparently we would be misgendering them. I'm so glad we won't be going through this nonsense because, like i said, it's impossible. We dodged the bullet lol

Can see how a group of people that met online would be diverse...but not a bunch of kids going to college together! You might have the one friend who is Asian or poc...but you never get a full house of DEI

Oh...I grew up in 80s Hollywood. I'm white and my two best friends were black and Honduran. So it does happen naturally. However, I do recognize the moder day DEI crap doesn't feel natural.

It's so funny he mentioned '13 Ghosts' because I said the exact same thing walking out of the theater. At least that movie wasn't PG-13. With this, they could have gone through the bit with Allister Crowley or make it one of the friends using the cards as a theme to bump the others off, or a deliberate hex. Horror movies are supposed to have som kind of sin. The only sin they commit outside of being insufferable is breaking into the basement looking for more booze when they're already legal drinking age.

These horror movies with a 08/15 story can be good when done right. Unfortunately it seems the focus of the creators was diversity and not making an entertaining flick once again.

I choked on my beer !! ... when I heard mention of '13 Ghosts' I thought you were talking about the 1960 movie from William Castle; forget the more recent movie of the same name, watch the 1960 one.

Checked the trailer ... that isn't how Tarot cards work and those cards are an abomination. Actually, the tarot cards are a story told in single pictures and the story is very interesting. I've used the Tarot for decades.

Alan: "You know going back to the old diversity thing. I think it probably would have been a better movie had it been all white people, because then you'd see 7 white people dying." Alan and Dante break into laughter. I used to come to Film Threat to escape the race centric crap. Just to have a good time hearing about movies or TV shows. I guess those days are over. Be ashamed for adding to the ugliness. I'm done. I know you don't care, but now, neither do I.

Tarot needed the mean-spiritedness of the Final Destination movies in the kills. They were watered down, PG-13 fare. The friends group was completely unbelievable, like mentioned. Also, potential horror filmmakers... get the lighting right. The lighting was so muddled in the final parts of this movie, you couldn't differentiate scenes or locations.

0:23 The MCU Spider-Man movies are nothing but a dei fest of characters. Every white, male or straight character in spider man's supporting cast in the comics and other entertainment medium are diversified for no reason at all.

Tarot was dumb, and the script was terrible, but I found it entertaining. Also, I hate DEI bullcrap but I really didnt get that sense that it was box-checky. Just sorta felt like "horror movie random friends get killed off one by one" trope

I like how you pointed out the movie would be worse with an all white cast. The diversity in this honestly doesn't hurt the movie. This is the type of DEI I can get behind. Gave a bunch of no name actors a payday. Why not? If the studio wants to waste money on bad films, that's on them. These actors are paid however.

It doesn't hurt and being college kids might explain it to a point. The issue is that they made diversity the priority when it should have been an after thought only once they had a decent script. Theoretically you could take a good script and swap out nearly any character for any actor and it should work.

It sucked because it was bad writing, not because of diversity or anything. If dei = ba movie, then spiderverse would have tanked, but it didnt. Spiderverse did really well because it had good writing.
