Maybe we should all ask for a Tarot deck by the Artist from the book Fairy Tale Rituals. After seeing your reviews on the los carabeo decks. I am going to check out other decks. I use my Dark Angels Tarot with the book Tarot made easy by Nancy Garen. That helps a lot. However I will pick up other books and more decks. Thank you so much for your reviews. BB
iv recently started using this deck and i instantly felt a real connection which i had never experienced before.. yes the images do take a little getting used to. but i found it opened my eyes to a whole new area of meanings to each card. You do need a more in depth book to read them though. As this deck is a mix of both Thoth and rider-Waite i found - 'The Heart of Tarot: An Intuitive Introspective Guide to Interpreting the Cards' by Ruth Souther works extremely well with them :) but judging by others opinions i guess i'm abit of an oddball lol xD
Not to worry, other reviewers and commenters feel the way we do😁 Thanks for the great book recommendation. I got a copy, and, it looks great! I won't touch a Thoth, but, the book will be helpful with reading my DF, maybe even my Spirit Halloween deck.
I've been hoping you'd review this deck. Hahaha! Your eyes when you're were talking about having a tarot deck by the artist from that book--priceless :)
Yep, I'm watching! Oh...Saruman & Theoden... :o( Wow--this deck. I'm so sad that the opportunity to make an amazing deck was missed--and yet some of the cards are so outstanding. Another Lo Scarabeo disappointment I guess. *sigh*
I was considering adding this deck to my collection and review it later alongside other dark lovelies, but watching the review made me reconsider. Looking at the images you showed, I could tell that they had hit and miss with this deck. And overall, it basically lacked the power other decks have. Also enjoyed that bit about the deck needing to be more multi dimensional, that was almost poetically said. Thanks for the review, it was helpful in making my decision.
I was going to buy this because what I'd seen of the images through Google looked good. But when Talula started showing card after terrible card I didn't even need to watch the whole video. Thanks for saving me from that, Talula.
I agree...dark fairytale is a misnomer. It's hard to call it dark when those bland cards lacked dynamism and depth (that just may be my own desire when moving into any 'dark' space: rich, layered, textured).
I totally agree, I love the whole Dark Fairytale style however this deck is far from what it should be with a name like that. I just love how you sigh with disappointment I genuinely burst out laughing because it was exactly how I felt when I saw the Devil card in particular.
That's pretty disappointing. I hate the that name of this deck is so misleading. The images have nothing to do with fairy tales at all! I'm glad you did this review because I love fairy tale decks, but I like NOTHING about this deck at all. And I agree, I hate the "realistic photography" artwork. I ended up with an oracle deck like that recently because I preordered it....big let down. I bought the Whimsical Tarot because I love fairy tales and I figured I would use it with my son when he's old enough. I have to say, I LOVE that deck and it has become my personal deck. I am so connected to it and didn't think I would be. I'll have to do a review on it. Have a great weekend!
Oh my goodness, your attitude in the beginning of this video made me laugh. I knew before you even got into the review what your opinion was going to be! When I saw the title of the deck, I was excited...but once again it's a photo manip deck, and like you said, there's no actual fairytale in any of these cards. Also, by this point, should anyone still be churning out little white books? I feel like it's almost a point of pride to include a nice, meaty guide book. It shows how much thought you've put into the deck, at least to me.
