Maddie is so sweet. I absolutely love the experimental nature of this channel, how you adapt to difficulties and apply your ever growing pool of knowledge. This is the kind of content RU-vid was (originally) made for.
When you go to cut a branch like that to size, if you put it behind your knee and crouch down on it, you can use your leg like a clamp which makes it a lot easier. Also those saws usually cut much better on green wood, just as a side note.
Thanks for posting this. Watched the camp, but The Girlfriend and I really enjoyed this setup video. She's still totally unconfident about me trying anything like this.
If you dont have rocks you can dig up some dirt and place it inside of plastic bags/fabric bags to make makeshift rocks on the corners. Use some thick branches too to weigh the corners down and next morning you can make a fire with those same branches before moving on. This is a pretty good setup. Maybe even wrap the top of the 1 stake with a tshirt or something so it didnt rip through the tarp eventually
Cool, I’ll have to try that with a big tarp one day, with it getting warmer the plants are starting to smell good again, you said “sage brush” like actual sage? You you could probably dry it out to smoke or fresh or dry from tea man, throw it on the camp fire to keep the bad spirits away or flys lol
Yeah we have lots of sage out here. I use it occasionally to smoke my cabin and make it fresher inside. Is it ok for tea? I haven’t heard of it used for that. There’s a culinary sage that tastes incredible, it was brought over from Europe.
@@OverOnTheWildSide cool, you are more westward, sage doesn’t grow around me unfortunately lol, ya definitely you can make tea, I’ve came to the conclusion that any plant that’s healthy to use is more and likely safe for tea, I did look it up quick tho so i don’t lie to ya haha, and to be safe
Nice video bro, I’ve always been into cowboys and stuff like the game Red Dead Redemption and the movies, like the dollars trilogy uh, The man who shot Liberty valance r prob my fav, also love the songs u sing, like the what is it 100 acres song and the Texas song.
Yes 160 Acres that I Love. It’s by Marty Robbins if you want to find it. I’m glad you found my channel. I’m working with my horses trying to get them to where I can ride them in the mountains and I can put out more videos.
Been meaning to ask your partner what kind of equipment do you use to keep yourself warm at night do you use a duster, a range coat, or maybe even a poncho?
I’m doing live videos every Saturday morning. My horse got sick and I got Maximus back (my Great Pyrenees) so now it’s difficult to get away for camp trips. I’m working on figuring it out.
