We do not do Tarpanam for living relatives, who are alive. (it may attract rodents, however. ) Learn more about Soul Genetics and Tarpanam here: www.pillaicenter.com/teachings/tarpanam I do Tarpanam daily and used to use a strainer and do Tarpanam over that in a kitchen sink -- most of the seeds were captured and I removed them to the Trash Bin afterward. However, after a few years, I had to snake out my kitchen drain, which some seeds had clogged. So now I do Tarpanam over a large bowl, and dispose of all the contents in a Trash bin.
