I have friends in marching band and they showed me a clip of this when they came back from the comp i’m so happy i go to watch the whole thing it’s amazing
out of all my years watching and performing TSOPE shows, this is just next level energy and quality of performance. Definitely a favorite. - what a killer brass section, especially those trombones (LBL family, you guys absolutely killed it)
As another person from broken arrow, watching from the front sideline was a surreal experience and I doubt I’ll ever experience something like that again
Insane drill 😮❤❤❤ The Encore Performance was 🔥..it was like watching Blue Devils Encore at Lucas Oil Even if they went to Indy they wouldn't gold because politics keep Carmel and Avon at Top 3. It's not worth going anymore
Most definitely not will never happen sorry to say DCI is a whole different dimension for anyone who marched such as myself can clearly see and hear the difference, plus they would have to knock their woodwinds and brass down to 75 people to accommodate Corps size when color guard pit and percussion numbers are factored in the loss of power due to a size reduction in order to be within DCI regulation would not bode well for this high school band and the woodwinds would all have to convert to brass instruments so it becomes impossible.
These kids and families also fundraise all year. We have about 15 fundraisers and events to raise money for marching season and we have parents who create and repurpose our props every year.
I honestly wouldn’t be at all surprised if this show gets top 3, if not top two this year at grand nats. This show has some incredible energy that Broken Arrow and Avon don’t have this year imo. I haven’t seen Carmel or Hebron, so I can’t say for those two. Hebron will prob win music because they are Hebron, but I def think this show could win GE, which is by far the most important thing for BOA. We shall see soon lol
Marching is supposed to be more than just going from point A to b you folks really need to establish a consistent marching style those feet yikes also execution hiting those drill was a little squirly at times very high schoolish not bad but too much follow the leader drill my sugestion to the staff is watch some Phantom Regiment Cavaliers and Santa Clara Vanguard shows and pay attention to the execution.
They ARE high schoolers playing and marching at a high level. I'm sure the staff do watch other programs, particularly DCI, but unlike DCI they are marching kids from 7th grade and up with no auditions and no alternates. Everyone marches. I only wish they had gone to Nats with even more time to finesse the show. I think they would have done well.
I'm tired of electronics in marching shows. It's old and overated. Nothing says the kids can't play like having to play pop music thru the speakers. If the kids could play the show wouldn't need the help.
sure electronics can sometimes go over the top, but they are meant to enhance the show. it helps with the story telling. and absolutely not, they can play amazing. theyre only highschoolers and they're playing and marching beyond professional level.
Well thats your opinion but this show is amazing and these kids work hard and are talented musicians not to mention that they won so..... guess the judges have a different opinion
Just like in the attached video, the singing sound effects used in this show are actually performed by a student on the band. It's NOT just an MP3 sound that the band is playing along with. Get your facts straight before going after a group of phenomenal kids/performers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Da0pYMA5sZk.htmlsi=fKHeavYZnr1iHkg8 It's an amazing show performed by a group of amazing kids and your comment has no justification behind it. The use of electronics sound bites is not old and overrated, it's modern and exciting, taking marching band shows to a new level.
@@soldancer4662 The "back track" is fully manual and are actually sound effects ran through my board, and are really only in certain spots to increase intensity. For the metronome, I don't know what they did before I joined, because no alumni came back to help me learn the board and there were only two volunteers other than me in the back that knew how to run it this past year, but since Hamilton we have only used our metronome for rehearsals 🥰
I think you must be kidding, right? The technical ability of the students is on full display. They play at an amazing level. The sound design and amplification is in no way being used to compensate for inferior performance skills. On the contrary, the soundscaping is enhancing an already masterful book. If you can’t tell, I don’t know what to tell you, but you know what they say about opinions….
