I am flat footed did a lot of hiking and my Achilles were quite tight then started getting burning sensation in around the ankle bone and worked out from my symptoms it must be tarsal tunnel. I had been applying ice packs and swimming in a very cold pool and found it helped. Your explanation of exactly what is happening is excellent. Thank you!

Sam, I am an Air Force veteran and for 5 years I rode in the back seats of high performance jet fighter aircraft on the average of once per week. Riding in the back seat often resulted in G forces of 6 to over 8 G's multiple times per flight and sometimes sustained G forces of up to 5 G's for around 30 seconds. A year or so after retiring from the Air Force I began to notice numbness in my feet and several years later had significant pain, numbness, tingling and burning in my toes and the balls of my feet. Three years ago I was tested for tarsal tunnel and it was confirmed that I had it in both feet. After watching your video I have to ask if it's possible that the G forces, forcing all that blood into my feet during those flights, could have permanently expanded those blood vessels and is the cause of my tarsal tunnel? From what I hear, it's very unusual to have this in both feet. I am 66 years old now and this has been going on since I was 40. It has only gotten worse with age. Thanks for your time.

Have you ever had your lumber spine examined (via MRI) for lumbar spinal stenosis? I've had increasingly uncomfortable, painful symptoms on my plantar surfaces (both feet, like you). I have significant lumber spine stenosis (intervertebral nerve impingement) recently verified via MRI and have a neurology eval. appt. next month. I assumed my foot discomfort was due to the spinal stenosis, having had back problems for over 25 years. But I just came across TTS and now it seems as though this could be the cause of my foot numbness & pain. It's going to take some real expertise to differentiate between the two potential causes. I asked my PCP for a referral to Podiatry for an eval. there, too (hoping he agrees). Well, I was curious if you ever ruled out the possibility of spinal stenosis. Maybe you could get a lumbar spine MRI....

I am 18 years old.At 2/9/2021 i got pain on my feet, while running.I went to a couple of doctors and everyone gave me a me different diagnosis. The symptom that i have is sharp pain at the middle of my feet. The pain occurs by standing (walking or just standing). The more time i am on my feet the more painful my feet get.And now hear something interesting.A couple days after the symptoms of my feet started,my wrists also started hurt.A doctor said that i just have loose wrists and i shouldn't be worried. But,I was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome by a neurologist.I also tested the nerves of my lower legs and the results were normal.Tho,i have a theory, that i have both carpal and Tarsal tunnel syndrome. Please help me!!

Have you ever experienced patients with tarsal tunnel, but with just one symptom (pain) ? 10 years ago ive broke my 2 bones just above the ankle. I have visited many doctors in Poland, didnt release tarsal tunel yet. I feel pain, often and strong, sometimes dont feel much or dont feel pain at all. Thats just one symptom i have, i can do everything on my ankle, playing football, jumping, but after that pain is stronger. I prefer just to lie in bed, not even sitting, and prefer to walk then to stay in one point. Now with new Doctor (ive visited many already) from Poland we are preparing to release tarsal tunel. But doctor is not sure if it will help bcs i dont have other symptoms. I have made survey of my nerves, and my nerves are slowed just underneath the ankle, the same place i feel pain. The question is, do you ever experienced patients with tarsal tunel but just with pain symptom (no tingling and others, just pain) ? Thank you, Konrad from Poland

I cried watching this. No one can explain to me what is happening. I have been dealing with this. The bottom of my right foot has been numb for 6 months. I had 2 knee scopes 8 and 6 months ago. When I tap on the inside of my right ankle it hurts so bad with nerve pain shooting into my foot. I’ve had 2 emg. They told me it was tibial nerve and should heal. Is it normal for it to take this long to heal? I think it’s just from where I have been limping on my foot for so long.

Only thing is now I am left wondering what exercises can be done without aggravating my condition & unlike most cases, I have an usually high arch for my age with the TTS which makes my doctor harder to fit me with the proper orthotics & now I am on Q for a Tarsal T S decompression open surgery:( Not Sure if I should go for it but with 2 yrs no improvement, that is my last resort apparently :(

I'm thinking this tibial nerve in the calf is why I can't do many right leg calf raises and the right calf is so weak compared to my left calf, after 2 minutes brisk walking it seizes up and burns. Thanks for teaching, I'm a self leaner here trying to figure out my leg issues 4 years and running(wish I could run again lol)No doctor so far has figured it out.

@@KonradGradzki Do you have full rotation in the ankle? Any popping noises? Does the arch hurt? The nerve can get irritated by lack of lateral tension causing the knee to roll medially on our step. Function Patterns is a great resource for advice in America and they have stuff online. You need to look at the whole system, Superficial frontline, Superficial Backline, Lateral Lines, Spiral Lines, and Deep Frontal Lines to fix the problem.

Every 20 or 30 steps I take I get an extremely sharp shooting pain in this nerve that causes complete leg instability. I wear orthotics to help relieve the pressure but I get flareups. The pain is not constant or consistent in duration. Feel like a millisecond of agony and then I feel like the nerve is trapped. Then it feels fine and normal but it keeps happening. What should I do? If I try to run I will fall.

Thank you. I have those exact symptoms, but mine escalate into a GM seizure as the nerve get irritated enough to start firing off signals to start my foot spasming. Then from there is goes into my calf and continues until I'm in a full seizure. Have you heard of this before? I tell my neurologist this and they just look at me funny, but I think that nerve compression is really my trigger.

I've had the top of my foot ran over, about 2 years ago. And now i'm getting gnarly pain in the tip of my big toe. Sometimes it is shooting pains, achey, needles, and I can't bend it at all. Sometimes my calf hurts and sometimes my shin. My big toe hurts to touch and the pain seems to get worse at night. I have to sleep with the blanket off my foot and my foot propped up in pillows and certain positions makes it worse. Could I have pinched a nerve in my midfoot when it was ran over and i'm getting referred pain in my big toe?

I have Patellar Tibial Tendonitis (multiple ankle sprains in the past years, over-training before fully healing, and maybe some postural/structural issues) and may have sustained some serious damage from a PRP injection. Do you think you could answer these questions based on general knowledge? 1. Is it possible for permanent nerve, tendon, or ligament damage to occur from a PRP injection in or around the tarsal tunnel? 2. Can BPC-157, TB-500, or HGH injections heal serious nerve damage? 3. What else can be done besides surgery, traditional PT, and RICE recommendations? I’m trying everything to get this back in shape because it could honestly be a life altering injury, given my career and dreams.

Came here to self-diagnos after we ruled out blood clot, heart failure, kidney failure.... Typical American er... No suggestion of follow up visit... The swelling went down enough to feel that tenderness in the tip of my tibia.... I palpated.... Felt like a release of sorts. I thought it is was fluid but I think now it was the be tingling from my palpating the nerve. I remember the to first doctor checking this now. She couldn't be diagnos that at an er but her job was to make it sure I didn't die that night and send me out I guess. But I'm icing and elevating now after several days. If we is so known I could iced earlier. They said to it to was just salt and be from standing as a cashier. The of latter is true and the general puffy legs again typical American eating to shit food but one ankle? It's definitely that nerve or my posterior talotibial ligament is inflamed but the tingling says the syndrome. I know eating better and doing it the exercises I find it here. Elevate? Icing? Gentle yoga and rest will most likely help. Maybe arthritis? I wondered gout... But I'm vegetarian so I don't see that. Thanks. PS you're super hottttt. Sorry not trying to objectify you.

Doctor says we will look your MRI scan and then we may do a surgery. But I don't have total numbness /burn/ or loss of feeling. Do you think there is a way to relieve it ? Are you living with the pain for 10 years ? It's a lot . Is there permanent nerve damage on yours ? They say It's very rare disease I am desperate for any bit of information.
